I read a lot of fiction, mostly crime and legal. My wife recommended a book I am now reading, Faithful Place by Tana French. It is not often that I am blown away by the quality of the prose.  My all time favorite author, Pat Conroy impressed me every time. Tom Wolfe is another. Tana French has also humbled me with her words, as I know I will never write at her level. Check out the opening sentence from her Prologue from Faithful Place:
"In all your life, only a few moments matter". Is that not a momentous line that forces you to read on? Wow!
