Today's song of the day is Always on my Mind. Written in 1972 by Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher and Mark James and released that same year by Brenda Lee and Elvis Presley, the song was never a huge hit until 1982 when Willie Nelson hit number one and won 3 grammy awards. It was the biggest country music hit of 1982 and wound up selling over 2 million records. In addition, it was my Grandmother's favorite song. Let me know what you think.
Always On My Mind
Maybe I didn't love you Quite as often as I could have Maybe I didn't treat you Quite as good as I should have If I made you feel second best Girl I'm sorry I was blind You were always on my mind You were always on my mind And maybe I didn't hold you All those lonely, lonely times I guess I never told you I'm so happy that you're mine Little things I should have said and done I just never took the time But you were always on my mind You were always on my mind Tell me, tell me that your sweet love hasn't died Give me, give me one more chance To keep you satisfied I'll keep you satisfied Little things I should have said and done I just never took the time But you were always on my mind You were always on my mind You were always on my mind You were always on my mind
