1.Clefairy was originally going to be the pok'mon mascot in pok'mon rather than pikachu.I know this because in the pilot episode of pok'mon.Clefairy is on the the cover rather than pikachu.Pikachu is just in the background with ash.But since the creators of pok'mon decided to put online witch pok'mon is the most cute.And pikachu won the contest.That's how pikachu became the mascot of pok'mon.
  
2.Pikachu's final evolution was going to be gorochu.Gorochu had fangs.But since this didn't quite go with pikachu and raichu.The pok'mon wasn't put into the series.

3.At the time the pok'mon company only had 3 designers of pok'mon.One of the desighners was to draw tuff pok'mon such as mewtwo.Sense pok'mon wanted a cute little pok'mon.Thats when the third designer came in.She liked sqirels at the time of making pikachu so she made him kinda look like a sqierl.Also to add with the fact.The lighting bolts in Pikachu's cheeks was because she knew sqirels stored food in their cheeks so she added that in to pikachu.She also desighed pikachu to look like a rice cake.Thats why pikachu is the shape he is and is a plump like a rice cake.This will add up with the first fact.The other desighner who created clefairy was his attempt of "cute" But pikachu became the master of the pok'mon franchise anyways.

4.When the creators made the first pok'mon game boy game.They made pikachu hard to catch so it could be rare.espiecally in the other games of pok'mon.Thats why pikachu is so hard to get in pok'mon games.
