Trust The Process is a term referring to the 76ers decision to dismantle their team in favor of high draft picks and salary cap space. The Process started in 2014 when they traded away all assets and stripped the team down to lose as many games as possible to secure the highest possible draft positioning.

The 2014 draft brought Joel Embiid a powerful Center from the University of Kansas at number 3 overall who despite missing 2 full seasons and part of a 3rd, has come to symbolize the Process and is even known The Process. His face is shown in the photo above the 76ers logo.

The 2015 draft brought Dario Saric in a draft night trade with Orlando and despite playing in Turkey for 2 years has become a key rotational player.

The 2016 draft brought the number 1 overall pick Ben Simmons a point forward from LSU. Simmons would miss his entire 1st season with a foot injury but debuted in 2017 and has been as good as advertised possibly winning rookie of the year.

The 76ers also picked first in 2017 and drafted Guard Markelle Fultz out of University of Washington. Fultz missed almost all of his rookie season with shoulder and mental issues.

Some other key contributors were added through 2nd round picks and undrafted free agents like Robert Covington and TJ McConnell and finally veterans like JJ Reddick, Mario Belenelli, Erfan Illyasova and Amir Johnson and won 52 games to make the playoffs for the first time since 2012.

It was a tough 5 years but we as fans were asked to trust the process and we did and are now watching one of the best and most exciting young teams in the NBA.
