How much are you willing to do for the one you love? How much of yourself are you willing to give? How much sacrifices are you willing to make? I would like to share a true story of a real situation that happened to someone I know and I hope I can get some thoughts/input/advice on this. To protect the identity and privacy of this person, I will not mention any names. She is an only child. Her parents split up when she was very young and she stayed with her mother in Virginia. Her mom remarried and her step dad took her as his own. She is loved by both her mom and step dad. Her biological dad is a no show. The once happy and obedient child slowly turned into a dark and rebellious teenager. Could it be due to her biological dad's absence in her life? Only God knows. Her mom and step dad tried to talk to her, offer advice but she only got worse. She started using drugs and began stealing from her mom. She met a guy and left home to live with him. Together, they lived a life of their choosing - stoned high every day. One day, shit happened. A robbery gone bad and her boyfriend was arrested and is now serving time in prison. She found a new man. Same story - went to live with him and continued with her habit with the new man in her life. The relationship between her and her new man is very intense. She told her mom that she's found "the one" and that she's crazy in love with him. They do everything with a lot of passion and intensity, even when they fight - which they do a lot. One day, during one of their fights, he stormed out of the house. He got into his truck, probably wanted to drive around to clear his head. She came running after him crying and pleading at him not to go but he wouldn't listen and told her to go back into the house. She refused. She stood in front of his truck and pleaded some more. He ran over her with his truck then backed up and ran over her again. He then sped off into the night while she lay bloodied and motionless on the street in front of their house. When a neighbour came home and saw her on the street, he called 911 and help came. She had so many internal injuries and had to undergo many surgeries. She slipped into a coma. When she came to after a week, they continued the "repair work" on her. She was in the hospital for months. And her boyfriend? He was nowhere in sight. She's been out of the hospital for a few months now but is still not fully recovered. Her mom wants her to move back home so she could take care of her but she refused. Instead she's gone back to live with her boyfriend who had ran over her with his truck. What do you think of this situation? People say "love is blind". If that is the case, is she truly that blind? Or is she taking "unconditional love" to a whole other level?

Wow Zee, thank you for sharing this. I see a need for attention. I think the young lady is lacking attention due to biological dad being out of the picture. Rebellious teen? Yes, and this is just an opinion but I believe that it goes hand in hand when one is greatly affected by an absent father. That is sad. By the way, I love your style of writing. Good stuff. 💙
