I sat down at the dining table and waited for the guest to be welcomed in by my mother. Aunt Edith had hurried upstairs and not come down again, so I presumed it was mine and mum's business.I hoped that it was my new school coming to collect me. I could see the big, iron gates and the turrets on the roofs... "Emily?" mum appeared in the doorway with a tall, pouted woman of whom have me a very angry glare, "This is Miss Winsnap. Miss Winsnap, this is my daughter Emily." I smiled and stood up. My trademark plaited ponytail swung to my left as I did so, "A pleasure to meet you, Miss Winsnap." I curtsied and then smoothed out my dress nervously. The woman nodded. "Get your things, we will have left by the time one hour is up, so get moving, please," Miss Winsnap sat down on a chair and patted her watch, "Time is essential." I nodded and left mum to try and make conversation with the Miss. Miss Winsnap just kept her eye on the time and murmured how small the kitchen was. My room was small and tidy. I already had everything I needed packs into one bag. Fresh blouses and skirts and so on. As I began to pack a few extra things, Aunt Edith appeared at my door, "Emily," she whispered, "You must be a brave girl, you promise me?" she smiled, tehn walked over to me and pressed something cool into my palms. Before I could see what, Aunt Edith walked out and said, "Your Father's." Curiously, I opened up my palms and gasped. A beautiful, leather watch lay in my palms. My Aunt had given my father's possession to me. A watch like this meant a lot to a man- especially his familie's wealth. I smiled and carefully put the watch on, before grabbing my bag and hurrying downstairs. Miss Winsnap checked her watch, tehn raised her eyebrows, "Fifteen minutes?" she stood up, "Say your goodbyes." I did. I hugged mum and, as I did, she pressed a small, silver box into my hand, along with a key attached to a chain, "Promise me that you'll be good?" "Yes." I pulled away and picked up my bag, then tying the chain around my neck a new putting the box in my pocket.
