But you will always be a friend to me
To everyone I will say
It already seems that you are family
Because you know everyone has enjoyed your company
Though we cannot and will not believe that our dear Miss Smith is leaving
You've been here since the first day 
In August but it's April, and you being here feels like I met you yesterday 
     With time passing us in a blink
It doesn't ever give us a chance to think
The year that the class has spent with you 
Will always and forever be sentimental value 
Oh, our dear Miss Smith, we will miss you very, very much. A friend that won't be of the past.
