I am happy right now.
Suddenly my heart begins to pound.

Faster & faster the beat goes.
Drowning in my thoughts & many woes.

No sleep will cure it. No, not this time.
I'm not in control anymore.
The controller has become my mind.

I take a walk outside to get some fresh air & clear my head, but the freedom & peace that I feel only lasts for a few minutes.

I face the problem head-on, but knowing that I can't change anything sometimes makes it worse. Having such a big imagination & creative mind is a blessing but in times like these, it feels like a curse.

Pace around the room. Maybe you'll begin to feel better. Let the tears fall. Not keeping all your emotions bottled up is healthier.

I finally calm down enough to get a few hours of sleep in. A few positive thoughts emerge, but the negative ones won't be replaced by them.

The sun has risen, but my spirits have yet to do the same. Everything hurts, but not all of it is physical pain.

I just want to move on & leave the past behind, but other people's opinions worry me & my insecurities are eating me alive inside.

We all fall & fumble. We all make mistakes. But some of us sometimes still want our past selves to be erased.

I'm not even halfway through my twenty years of living yet, but I feel as though I've lived a full life already. I most certainly am not giving up, although I am a little unsteady.

My anxiety has found the door & showed itself out, but I know it's coming back in just a little while. So I guess I'll enjoy the peace & quiet for now.
