Summer’s POV

I smiled up at Freddy and noticed he had been smiling at me the whole time. We were alone, waiting for the band to show up. Freddy was gazing into my eyes. Suddenly Zac walks in and says “Freddy why are you looking at Summer like that?”

Freddy,  still looking into my eyes,  says, “Oh, uh…. I'm thinking about SUMMERtime. I can't wait to see those SUMMER flowers come up.” 

Zac nods. “Yeah I cant wait.” 

That's when I realize Freddy meant he was thinking about me,  not Summertime, but Summer. 

I smile too. “And i'm thinking about.. 5 nights at FREDDY’S.” Freddy smiled back. 



Freddy’s POV

Her eyes are so blue….Suddenly out of nowhere Summer just loudly hiccups. Summer covers her mouth in surprise as she hiccups again. “Big deal” you may be thinking. Well it was,  because Summer was the lead singer in the concert, we were next up. The band has Tomika as the lead singer, but she couldn't make it today. 

“Nooo(hic)” Summer says.

I look around. 


“Sum, as long as you sound good it doesn’t matter if your hiccuping the entire time.” I say. 

“I (hic) know,  but what if people make (hic) fun of me?” she asks.

I smile.

“If you sound good,  they won't care.”

Suddenly we are forced onto the stage.

Summer looks nervous. I put my arm around her.

“It's fine,  you'll do great.” I comfort her. Then I put my arm back on my side and go to the drums.


Summer’s POV

I can barely breath. They are gonna make fun of me,  I know it. 

(Singing Diamond by Rihanna) 

“Shine (hic) bright like a diamond.” I already hear people laughing and a few people look like they began filming. 

“Shine bright like a dia-(HIC)” i don't even bother to finish the word,  that hiccup sounded loud already, and the microphone made it sound worse. 

“Find light in the beautiful sea,  (hic) I choose to be hap-(hic) -py. You and I,  You and (HIC)” ughh. The loud ones made people die of laughter.

“We’re like diamonds in (hic) the sky.” I pause in embarrassment,  everyone was cracking up. Then I go on.

“You’re a shooting star I see,(HIC) a vision of ecstasy.” I cannot wait to get off the stage
“When you hold (hic) me, I’m alive
We’re like diamonds in the (hic) sky.” Ok,  im almost ready to run of the stage.

“I knew that we’d become one right away,  (HIC) Oh, right away.” Ughhh.
“At first sight I felt the energy of sun (hic) rays.” C’mon I can do this.
“I saw the (hic) life inside your eyes So shine bright tonight,You and I (hic)
We’re beautiful like diamonds (hic) in the sky.Eye to eye,So al-(HIC)-live. 
We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky (HICCC)” At that second,  after that weird very loud hiccup, people were shouting “HICCUP GIRL!” And “SUMMER HICCUPS!” 

Cruel.  At that point I even forgot the lyrics. I ran off the stage into the back room and sit on the ground. Freddy runs in and sits next to me. 

“You sounded really good.” He said. 

“They all were laugh-(hic)-ing.” I say. Freddy nods. I put my head on his shoulder and I hiccup again. I felt useless. I was hiccup girl. Thats my new nickname. Ugh. “I made a (HIC) fool out of myself.” I say. He smiles.

“No you didn’t. Summer,  it’s totally fine.” He said. I smile and hiccup. My hiccup lifts my head,  which than lands back onto Freddy’s shoulder. 

Freddy smiles again.

“You should go back out there. I can stand by you if you need me to.” He said. I nod.

“No,  we need our (hic) drummer.”

I get back onto the stage.

“Shine bright like a diamond,  (HIC), Shine bright like a diamond,  Shining bright like a diamond (hic) 
We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky (hic) Shine bright like a diamond
Shine bright like a diamond (HIC)
Shining bright like a diamond. We’re beautiful (hic) like diamonds in the sky.” More laughing fans… yay….

“Palms rise to the universe,(hic) as we moonshine and molly,  Feel the warmth, we’ll never die(HIC)”
We’re like diamonds in the sk-(hic)-y.”

I was singing really good now,  but also bad, from the annoying,  and some loud hiccups. 


Freddy’s POV

I was getting annoyed at how many people were laughing at Summer. I wanted to get her out of his mess. How? She kept singing,  and hiccuping, and singing, and hiccuping over and over again. 

“Shine bright like a dia-(HIC)-mond.” Summer finally is done. When we are in the back for good Summer was shaking. 

“I’m a fool. (HIC)” She said. She has been hiccuping so much,  now they were really loud and I could see her throut even indent deeper each time she hiccuped. But since I reallyyyy like her, i’d say her hiccups were “cute”.... 

“Your not a fool. Your the spotlight. If people don't think you sound amazing,  they are crazy.” I say.

“I sounded good,  but (HIC) ny hiccups don't  sound good AT ALL!” She said. 

“Yes- Summer,  your pretty, and you know,  these people who laugh at you for doing something you have no control over,  is wrong.” I explain. Summer nods. 

“I know! It's not like I (HIC) like the hiccups!” She said.

I nodded. Zac and Lawrence giggle at Summer. “You did…good…” Zac says. Lawrence laughs. I squint.

“Guys, seriously?” I ask.

“It's not funny, (HIC)-” Summer says. Lawrence and Zac laugh like crazy.

“GUYS! Stop!” I say. Zac and Lawrence stop.

“Fine.” Zac says. They leave the room. I see a tear run down Summer’s cheek. I put my arm around her. She puts her arm around me.

“I made myself look like a fool. (HIC)” She bounces up from the hiccup. 

“Summer,  it's ok. Don't worry about it. You have me. I support you. I think your cute in every way.” …now I regret saying that. It was cringe. “aww-(HIC)-awww.” Summer says.

I smile. 


Summer’s POV


Ok,  I’m done. Besides, after almost an hour,  these hurt. Freddy was trying to comfort me. 

“Yeah except…(HICCC)” That was odd… “Ok,  thats not cute.” I say. Freddy shakes his head. “Your cute,  so thats cute.” He says. I try to laugh but I hiccuped instead. Louddddly. Very loud. Annoying. Deep. SO LOUD.  Like HICCCC. Lol. 

“Freddy,  I honest-(HIC)-ly,  don't know what Id do if you weren't here.(HIC)” 

“I don't know what you’d do either…”

We laugh. 

“Can we try (HIC) to cure these?” I ask. Freddy nods. He runs to the mini fridge and brings me a water bottle. I start to drink it but then- (HIC) and the water spills on me.

“Hold your breath.” Freddy says. 

I nod. I hold-hiccup-hold-hold-hiccupppp…   ugh. Freddy moans.”Try going upside down against the wall.” I go upside down. When I hiccup,  my jaw yanks up.(not down, because she's upside down) 

Freddy helps me get right side up again. 

“Nothing is working!” (HIC)

Freddy looks around. 

“I dont think if I scare you,  it would work, and i’d feel bad.” Freddy says. 

“No,  please (HIC) try it,  it might work! (HICCC!!!)” Freddy smiles. 

“That was loud.” He says,  refurring to my hiccup. I nod. ‘Ow.” Freddy nod back. “I'll try to scare you.”

After almost 20 minutes,  Freddy cant scare me, and when he has,  the hiccups just got worse. 

“Freddy...This is- (HICCC!) useless...They are just louder.” I said. Freddy whispers, “I doubt a kiss would cure them.” He says. I smile. “Just try! (HICC-) 

We kiss,  but I just hiccup during it. Freddy leans away. I raise my eyebrows. “Wow- (HICCC!) This isn't gonna work.(HICCCC!!!!!)” I felt like I should get a worlds loudest hiccup reward for that one.


Freddy’s POV.


“Summer,  I promise you won't have them forever. I get hiccups a lot,  but I dont have them anymore.” I say, as Summer bounces from a hiccup. Summer moans.

“They hurt.” She says. We hug for a second,  and when she hiccups, I felt it from her stomach bouncing. When we end the hug Summer moans again. 

“Fred-(HIC!)-dy. Thanks for helping me,  but I- (HICCC!!!) feel like i’ve had the hiccups for-(HICCC!!!)-- everrr” Summer says. We sit back down and I sit right next her. She bounces every few seconds from the loud hiccups. She puts her hand on her chest. Then someone walks in.

“Summer? They want you on stage to read the ending speech” He says. Summer shakes her head but the man makes her. 


Summer’s POV

Ugh not again. 

“Thank you for all com-(HICCC!!!)-ing to this concert. We had pretty cool- (HICCC!!)----bands. That includes-(HICCCCCC!)” Everyone is laughing. 

“School of (HUP!) ((Which os what that hiccup sounded like.)),  The Rockers, and (HICC!) the dog and three fellas.” The crowd yells.

“SCHOOL OF HICCUPS,  SCHOOL OF HICCUPS!!!” I run back to backstage where Freddy was.

“That was even (HUP!) worse! The hiccups are so loud now!” 


Freddy’s POV 


Now when Summer hiccuped,  she bounced back about an entire foot instead of about 3 inches. I felt bad. Suddenly Summer breaks out in tears,  and hiccups in between sobs. 

“Im a fool for- (HICCC!!)- hiccups.” She says,  and she jumps into my arms and we hug for a while. She cries.

“Its ok!” I say. “Your fine.” I say. Summer hiccups and sobs at the same time and then shakes her head. 

“It's not-(HICCUB) ((How that hiccup sounded)) did ya’ hear that? It was weird. (HUP!)” She sobs. I hug her tighter. She hiccups again and bounces back for a second. We hug for few minutes and then she backs up.

“What if (HIC!!!) everyone remembers this- and if pe-(HUP)-ple make fun!”

She hiccups again. “No. They won't,  don't worry!” I say. 

“(HICCURP!)”She hiccuped so loud that Lawrence can in and asked if we were ok. Summer shruged.

“No,  because I (HUP!) still have the stupid hic-(HIC!)-them.” Summer  says. Lawrence gasps.

“Still!?”

“(HUP) yessss.” Summer says. I sit on a seat and Summer sits on my lap. “Noth-(HIC)-ing is working!(HICCUB).”

Summer lays back and puts her head on my chest and I put my arms around her. 

“Do you have any- (HIC!)- cures,  Larry?” She says. She hiccups again and my arms feel her stomach bounce. Lawrence shrugs. “Nah.”

Suddenly I want to see one more time if kissing works,  so I kiss Summer on the lips, but at first she hiccups anyway,  but when I lean away, her hiccups are gone. 

“Did it work? Oh my gosh,  Freddy it worked!” Summer shouts,  and hugs me.
