Pain and struggle.... when you feel like there is no way out, there is still always a way through. So, don't turn away from the pain. Face it. Face it fully. Don't think about it, just feel it. Express it if necessary, but don't create a script in your mind around it. Give your attention to the feeling, not the person, event, or situation that have caused you the pain. Just focus on the feeling; the bone crushing, heart shattering, mind exploding, and soul piercing pain. You may think, why on earth would I want to do that to myself? Stay with me and hear me out and I'll tell you why.

Fact is, we all have inner demons to fight. Some of these demons have been around for so long that we recognize them for what they are. Fear, Hatred and Anger are usually among the more familiar and notorious culprits. But ask yourself, are those demons really stronger than you? Are they really all that powerful to the point where they can make you feel powerless? Chances are, they are not. You can beat them IF you really want to. Think of the options you have - if you don't conquer them, a life of a hundred years will be your tragedy. If you do conquer them, a life of a single day can be your triumph. I am not asking you to contradict or refute, it is just something to weigh and consider.

You have this one life. How do you want to spend it? By apologizing? Regretting? Questioning? Hating yourself? Running after people who don't see you? Be brave. Be strong. Believe in yourself. Be smart. Do what feels right. You have this one life. Make it count. Make yourself proud.

Don't be frightened about what comes next. Embrace the uncertainty of the unknown and allow it to lead you places. Be brave enough to meet the challenge to exercise both your heart and your mind as you create your own path. Don't waste time with regret. And if you should ever find yourself lost, take a breath and start over. Retrace your steps and go back to the purest place in your heart where hope resides. Trust me, you will find your way again.

Truth is, the spiritual path and the awakening process will take you straight into the core of your pain. There is no detour around it. You have to go through the process to heal from the pain. This is a horribly scary thing for just about anyone because this pain sits and rots us out, slowly. It dictates what we do while we fight to avoid anything that has the potential to ignite the pain. The pain controls us and rules us. To heal means to have to face it head on and there is where a lot of us will slam on the brakes. Why do we do that? Because we underestimate ourselves. We second guess and doubt our own strength. We are afraid to face what is in front of us because we are afraid we wouldn't be able to handle it. But here's the thing, in facing it, we can become free. The healing process has its own time frame. You cannot measure it in time or tears. It will run its course, and you will make it through. You are strong. Trust the strength that is within you.

The fact that you are struggling doesn't make you a burden. It doesn't make you too much or too sensitive or too needy. It makes you human. Everyone struggles. Everyone has a difficult time coping, and at times, we all fall apart. There is no shame in that. During these times, we aren't always easy to be around. And that's okay. Let's face it, no one is easy to be around one hundred percent of the time. Just breathe. You are strong enough to handle your challenges. You are wise enough to find a solution to your problems. You are capable enough to do whatever needs to be done to conquer your demons, to stay afloat, to face the pain, and to heal and become whole again. All you got to do is believe in yourself and give yourself a fighting chance to make it through.

Remember.... there is light behind all darkness.
