Before I entered the world of addiction, the word 'life' had a positive luminescence to it. In the depths of heroin use, the word lost its glow and became cold, negative, and desolate. Now, after years of putting action to the Buddhist practice and principles, the word slowly regained its shine, one twinkle at a time. Like a lotus flower barefaced in a sodden swamp. A ray of light protruding through a dark cloud obscuring the gladdened sun.
In the end, the word 'life' has regained its radiance and forward-looking output. And with great gratitude,
...so have I. Beautiful things can come from the dark, and I believe I am walking proof.
