    He jerkily shoved the left side of his shirt up, revealing a series of scars. “I’m not who you think!” he shouted, tears streaming from his eyes. “I’m not like them! I’m not like you!” He gestured to one of a heart, sloppily carved into his skin. Crossing directly over the heart was a series of slashes, some newer than others. “I even promised!” he screamed, his voice starting to break. “I promised myself I wouldn’t put myself through more of this.. Through the heartbreak… I.. I promised m-myself I wouldn’t l-love because all it brought was pain-..” He gently touched the scar, and sunk to his knees. Softly, he whispered, “every line.. it was a reminder not to do this again…”
