An aroma so sweet The fragrance of the salty beach A childhood refueled by a blissful memory Of that sun hotly glistening Brightly off the waves beckoning Then magically crashing into foam Chasing hermit crabs from their home Turning sand into castle shaped domes Of course they never lasted long Once the tide had took up its toll Sticky hands and sandy feet Covered in melted ice cream Water pulls me out deep For a swim just out of reach Unaware of the dangers which lurked Going further out Fearless and carefree Among the hungry sharks hiding in the murk undertoes and the ripping currents Not once a listening until I felt that awful burn of a jellyfish' harsh sting So quickly I turned my Swimming back towards the bank With a new lesson now learned About the blistering pain And the stripes I had earned And never swimming in beach waters again
