Day 2

We aimed to bring one of our sons friends over. Elizabeth, my wife, suggested it would be a good idea to pull our son out of whatever funk he is in.

Sadly, his friend never showed. Not that our son cared. He seemed to be less jumpy and more spaced out today.

In the afternoon, he bit me. It all happened in slow motion, it seemed like. I could see his teeth come protruding out of his jaw and sink into my flesh. As his canines dug into my flesh, his eyed gazed up at me and reminded me, for a second, of when he was a baby.

It was a struggle to pry him off my arm. After he had bitten me, he entered into a catatonic state of not wanting to move. He had finally hurt someone, other than himself.

I had lifted him up to his room when he appeared non responsive to any external stimuli. There he sat all night..not making a sound.

The next morning, we were awoken by scratches at the hall door. Scratches at the door, like a cat furiously trying to get indoors.
