Ruby Wen Aiet never knew her life, as an eleven-year-old girl would change so quickly. 

It all started when she decided to take that shortcut. It was a sunny day, and she felt like walking through the, alleys of Resonia. She was just... so jealous of the other girls. They all had werewolves as pets. 

In Restojivan, a nearby town, werewolves lived in harmony with humans. In Resonia, they were pets, kept forever on a leash and forbidden normal rights. In some ways, they were slaves. Ruby wanted one. 

Some people thought that Werewolves and Wolf -howls are the same thing, but Ruby knew they was a difference.  Wolf-howls are magical beings who can transform into full wolf, half-wolf half-human (werewolf form) and full human with telltale wolf ears. Ruby wanted one so badly, but they were illegal so she had to settle for a normal werewolf. 

As she was brooding over that, a runaway werewolf bumped into her. It had a warning on its collar: Do Not remove collar! Ruby removed it to read it. As soon as the collar was removed, the werewolf let out a Thundering growl and launched itself at Ruby.
