Man what a lovely day it is so far on this Friday morning, it's still so early in the a.m. but the weather man did said that it's suppose to be 74° degrees today, and that is A ok with me. My work day, or shall I say "night" went by pretty fast. I'm a bartender at this club near downtown Chicago called "Ace of ♠'s", the place is like the most happening place in all of the Chi, and when I tell you that there is never a down time, whew, you really can go through one on a ten hour work shift. I work the night shift and usually get out of there by seven a.m. when I leave work there's this lil coffee shop I like to go to before I head home, I usually go just to unwind a bit, I don't know, that sweet aroma of coffee just relaxes me so. As I stepped inside the shop, I went right to the counter and ordered my usual, a medium glazed maple bacon coffee with light caramel creamer and three and a half scoops of sugar, and a cheese danish, yeah I know that coffee flavor probably threw you, but it's quite tasty, they have a ton of crazy flavors, but most of them actually work, I tried a few before the maple glaze became my favorite. After I received my order, I went to a small table near the window, I liked the window seats cause it's something about watching the people go pass, rather they're starting they're work day, or ending they're work night as I, or whatever, I just liked watching people sometimes I try to figure out where they're going. (laughs) Yeah I am a lame! This time though, I wasn't focused on the people, I had my latest hip hop magazine in hand "Mic Check", and I was reading an article on one of my all-time favorite emcees, "Dirk Durham". I been loving his music probably from day one. He had a very smooth style, and I enjoyed the fact that his music wasn't highlighting drugs, sex, and an over abundance of violence, yeah, what kinda guy am I, huh? Now don't get me wrong, he talked about those things in his music, but it was more so on the negative aspect of the matter, the negative impact it has in your home, and community ya know, but that's neither here nor there, or anywhere else. I was about midway through my article when I heard this peaceful voice ask "Is anyone sitting with here?" When I looked up, there stood this beautiful, caramel complexion sista standing there, the young lady had hazel colored eyes, shoulder length jet black hair, and that smile, man that smile. "Uh no, no, no one's sitting there." I responded with my voice a bit shaky. "You mind if I sit here? There's no place else to sit."
"Uh no, I don't mind at all." I told her in response, giving her the hand motion to the seat across from me...
