It was a stormy night. I had arrived home from work only to realize that I had left the keys inside and locked myself out.

Not to worry, I have a small cabin out in the woods behind my house that I could stay in till morning when I could call a locksmith.

I went to the cabin and started a fire in the fireplace. Once I got it going I pulled up the small stool that I kept in the cabin and found the book I'm currently reading in my drenched workbag and settled down to an evening of reading to give myself something to do.

I had just finished reading the third chapter when I heard a lound knock at the door. I got up to answer it but when I opened the door there wasn't anybody on the other side, just a lot of forest. I closed the door confused because I was sure that I had heard something. Probably my imagination.

I looked at my watch and realised that it was getting late. A few minutes later I lay in bed trying to fall asleep when I heard a creaking in the floorboards. I sat up and looked at the area where the creaky floorboard is but there was nothing there.

Then I felt sharp talons around my throat a shadow fell against the wall of a huminoid beast but I still couldn't actually see the monster. A scream welled up in my throat but I couldn't get enough air to cry out.

The last thing I felt was a a wet sticky trickle of blood down my throat.
