The sky was a hot orange and a soft pink, the sunset was really making a romantic mood. Riley and I sat down on a couple of cheap metal chairs, watching the ground get further and further away. As soon as we got into space properly, the AI in the ship started announcing: WARNING! WARNING! SYSTEM FAILURE! WARNING! WARNING! ENGINE OVERHEAT!
"Alright, Brefton, have an excuse for this?" Mark groaned, glaring into his eyes.
"Not me. If I were to do that, then I would at least disable the alarm, idiot. Remember what I said about the Pho wanting to kill off people they didn't like? That's probably what they want to do now, hearing that Slir is alive." Brefton responded calmly and collectively.
"Well, guys, er, escape pods? Yeah, they are one seater, and there are only two. And there are twenty-four of us. How are we gonna get out?" Khol stuttured, clearly not being able to handle the pressure.
"Don't worry, I expected these Pho to have a trick up their sleeves, so I ordered a small fleet to come and aid us." The Kni captain barged into the area.
"An entire FLEET? Jeez, what kind of power and authority do you have?" I exclaimed, wondering how high a rank this captain really was.
"Are you complaining? Well anyway, I have my ways. The fleet should arrive soo... Oh, there it is." He announced, as eleven ships entered the area.
Everyone who wasn't of the Kni stood gawking at what kind of power this captain had to summon such a fleet for just a few people. The ship in the center was probably the command ship, as it was large and was a lot more intimidating than the other small cruisers. WARNING! WARNING! ENGINE OVERHEATING! WARNING! WARNING! FIRE! FIRE! The klaxon started blaring, and all I could smell was smoke. Out of nowhere, an explosion occured, knocking everyone out.

What should we do about the Pho? They were with them in the ship, so they might not be enemies.
All Pho are enemies, they are to be executed tomorrow.
Yes Madame.

I woke up, wondering where I was. The room smelt of medical supplies and antibacterial wipes. I could taste medicine flowing into my mouth, dreadfully sour. I opened my eyes to see a humanoid figure staring into my eyes as he gave me a dose of medication. Slowly, my hand reached out to touch one of the machines in the room, but all I felt was a silky smooth hand brushing me back.
"You need to rest. I know it's annoying, but if you don't you might end up spending longer in bed than you would if you just accepted it."
As soon as the nurse exited the room, I decided to just get up. I mean, have you ever seen a movie where a character actually decides to rest? I don't think so. Lifting myself up, my legs touched the smooth, tiled surface of the flooring, and my hands pushed against the polished metal of the medical bed.
"Sapphire? Is that you?" A voice groaned from a bed next to me. "We made it, hahah, we are off planet Earth. With a bit of help, we made it. Now the fight can go on, we can avenge the lost. We can push back the Darkness."
"Why are you suddenly being so soft? That's not the SOB I know." I chuckled, smiling.
"The doctors said I took a shard of metal to the..." He took a sharp intake of air, before continuing, "heart. I only have a day left."
"No... Is this one of your jokes? And for goodness sake, it's the 72nd century, don't we have the medication?"
"Probably..." Mark replied as he drifted into a sleep, hopefully not a coma, his faint snores filling the silent room.
I started to cry, were we really going to lose him? Surely something could help him, like, Light Magic! I rushed out the room, brushing tears away; ignoring the nurse that told me to rest and slipped into the bridge of the ship.
"You! Kni, commander, person!"
He looked at me, quite puzzled.
"Yes, what is it?"
"You have Light Magic, yes?"
"Of course."
"Follow me and don't ask questions!" I yelled as I grabbed his arm and started to drag him towards the room where Mark lay. "Can you heal him?"
"Guardians don't usually practice the healing side of Light Magic, unless they are that one member in a squad that are taught to heal..." He looked at Khol, who was clearly enjoying a sandwich.
"Thanks?" I half-thanked, half-questioned him.
Running again, I slipping into Khol, knocking both of us over onto the floor. The precious cheese and ham sandwich flew across the air as if in slow motion, and landed gracefully in a great big splodge on the Kni commander.
"Damn you and your over-enthusiastic spirit, Sapphire." Khol moaned as he rubbed the back of his head.
"I'm just not going to say anything and walk off to clean this off..." The commander replied to the accident.
"I'm SO sorry! Here let me help." I apologised, trying not to sound sarcastic as I helped lift Khol off the floor.
"Okay, now that's over, can you help me?" I asked politely.
"Just after you knocked me over and ruined my sandwich? No thanks." Khol replied, mourning the loss of his wonderful treat.
"Cmmon, Mark is DYING! He only has a day to live! And your just sitting there moaning about a sandwich."
"Jeez, alright, I'm coming! I didn't know he was dying..." Khol replied, clearly still annoyed.
We rushed down the corridor, twisting past the same nurse, who started yelling after me. Entering the room, Mark was still asleep, which was probably a good thing.
"Can you heal him?"
"I think so. It will take a lot of energy, and I might end up knocking myself out by accident when I finish the healing process."
"So, you can do it."
"Yes, but it will take about two hours of concentration. If you don't mind, can you not bother me?"
"Alright, I'll leave the room for two hours, but then I'm returning ASAP. You good with that?" I answered, but the only responce I got was a nod. As I left the room, the commander walked up to me.
"Is he doing it?"
"Yup, but don't disturb him. It will take him about two hours, or that's what he said."
"Alright, by the way, my name is Neo, and I am the High Commander of the Kni. That's where I get my authority from.
