Lex and the Moon. The beautiful blue moon sat perfectly in the heavy black sky. It shone onto the earth with love and kindness. Lex sat for a moment, absorbing the moons delicacy. He couldn't concentrate on anything but it's positive glow, if it was only for a moment that the world could seemed perfect and still. In another moment, it could change and he would be back to being average. The moon gave him life. He watched as it's reflection seemed lesser than the moon itself. Something he felt when he looked in the mirror. How could a piece of reflective glass show how he really felt and who he really was. Yet Lex placed huge empathises on how he looked in it. And he was never impressed. He never felt complete. Yet out here in the night, he was filled with energy and enthusiasm. The wilderness gave him confidence. He could run, jump and dodge. He could feel going back and looking in the mirror was something he never had to do again. As he moved slowly towards a large rock he caught a flutter of his own reflection. His soft brown fur bounced but firm paws carried his huge form across the ground. A stunning creature. Lex's wolf form was his only reason for living. His passion yellow eyes watch the sky line as he pondered his life as a man. If only he could be a wolf all the time he thought. But he was an Alpha and had responsibilities, they were calling him. He was running from his future because he didn’t want the future, he lost someone close to him. Lex thought about April for a moment. The best sister he could have ever had, his twin, his soulmate. He lost her at the hands of another Alpha, she was protecting Lex's delicate mate, Destiny was still young, given to Lex too young. The Elders way of toying with him. Annoying him. He wasn’t always compliant, they thought he had to pay of that and that payment was Destiny and the lack of punishment for April’s killer. Lex remember it like it was yesterday... . As the long black limousine pulled up to the large pack house, Lex nearly growled. Alpha, Beta and Gamma all stood waiting for the arrival of the elders. Although they were not best pleased to see them. Lex wanted nothing more than a pack war. To run down the stream and destroy everything that the Hill pack has. They had destroyed everything he had. But nobody was feeling the pain that Ray, the Gamma was feeling. April was his mate. Alpha Adam Hill had taken his everything. The only man in the pack willing to talk to the elders was reliable Boh but April was like a sister to him, she was his queen as Lex was his king. Overall the elders were in for a fight. "Alexander, Bohannah and Raymond. How wonderful to see you?" Dartmouth eccentrically said as he bowed out of the car. The men cringed at hearing their full names and didn't reply. "Tea?" He then questioned and the men nodded, following him inside were Boh's mate made Dart a cup of tea. The other elders slowly joined them but it became clear they had already discusses in the car what they were going to say. Lex was too angry to spark up a conversation but the more he thought about it, it wasn't the anger at all that was stopping him from speaking. It was the emptiness he was feeling. He was only half of himself now and unfortunately for everyone else, it was the calm and collected side that was gone. The monster was the only part left. Dartmouth hummed as he sipped his tea, carefully waiting for calm before he told the man what they didn't want to hear. "Adam Hill died from his injuries," Dart started "therefore we see no need to punish the whole pack, they have also lost family," Lex choked as Dart uttered the word family. April was more than family. She was his other half. And for him to insinuate that loosing their alpha in anyway matched the pain that his pack was feeling was unjust. Ray slowly walked out of the room, determined not to break down but it was too late and his howls of pain could be heard over miles of land. The howl tore at Lex's heart as Ray cried for his mate, cried for April. Boh tried to show a much calmer side and paced his hand on Lex's shoulder as he told the elders why this was mistake. "She was our queen and for you to tell us her life only equalled his, is discussing, he came to our land, he killed our Wolf, he destroyed our future..." Boh told Dart as much as he could without completely braking down like Ray had done. Ray's pain was still pulsing through the Alpha and Beta's bodies, they felt tortured by his lost, they felt tears burning his face, they felt a fire once strong in his body washed away by an ocean of darkness. Ray felt like he was dying. Ray hurt like he was dying. "Bohannah, I can assure you, they are in a world of pain right now," Dartmouth tried to reassure them. He then changed the subject "Why have you not mated with Destiny yet Alexander?" Lex took a deep breath. Trying to blow away all the hate that he was fell but Dart could taste the annoyance from it and gave him a stern look. Lex returned the look and answered his question "she is too young, I won't mate with her until she is ready," "She turned sixteen last month," Dartmouth said as if that was old enough to become an Alpha's wife. Lex knew the elders chose her to try and prove he was weak. At twenty-six years of age the ten year age gap sickened him. The yearly Alpha pairing meetings went on and on, Lex went to eight in total. Each year a female his age would flirt with him and gain his attention, each year the elders would say no. Until Destiny. Who was a child. Became of age and became Lex's responsibility. She was listening. Lex knew she was because they were getting closer to each other. He had bonded with her but April giving her life to save Destiny had destroyed Lex. "They will in time," Boh told Dart to save his alpha from losing control and telling the old man were to stick his old ways. Dart watched Lex and said "you are a strong alpha, don't let this ruin that," before leaving the table, followed by the other elders. They were scared of Lex. They wouldn't have told him this information out of fear. They were spineless when it came to him but Dart was different. Lex had lost April forever and it was going to take him time to adjust. Mating with Destiny was going to have to wait until Lex felt whole enough to give another half of himself away. Boh waved the limousine away then came into the house to cuddle his mate. He held her tighter now April was gone but she was hurting. Bunny was the sweetest girl anyone could wish to meet, a beautiful soul and a good friend to April. She could hardly cope without her and Destiny's young attitude rubbed Bunny up the wrong way. Bunny felt alone in the house without her female companion. There was other females on site for Bunny to be with and she enjoyed there company but nobody was like April. She must have only been a week along in her pregnancy but everyone could smell the sweet fragrance of a baby. A beautiful baby boy. And fast forward to now. He was nearly on his way.
