Oh! My wonderful friend
I hope you have seen the vanity of the world
And the absolute nothing that lies within
You bit more than you could chew
You ran faster than your feet
Now you have realized
Cry me a river

You were warned but you turned deaf ears
"All is vanity", they said 
But you didn't bat an eyelid
You knew you were doing wrong
But it felt right anyway
Not all that glitters is gold
Not all that's sweet is honey
Cry me a river

You have been fed with the most delicious poison
That killed you softly
The ones you regarded as friends
Are the ones that cut you with the sharpest knife
And rubbed salt in all you're wounds
Cry me a river

Now you wish,wish you never danced
To the pleasant beats of destruction
Your heart is wailing
Your soul is howling
Your eyes are weeping
You have lost yourself
In a bid to become somebody else
Cry me a river
