A Simple Plight Of The Homeless Read Count : 126

Category : Poems

A plight ringing loudly
A harsh and naughty dismay
A societal blunder
Of where the homeless might stay
Cities grow rapidly
And Force them out of their way
Fearing the consumers might not come pay
And words become politically twisted into parks deemed unsafe
But As the builders continue to destroy the earth's natural face
They're Chasing a dollar
Leaving abandon many a place
Hanging no trespassing signs in their wakes
And as I read the newspaper I can't help but become slightly enraged
So clearly an answer begs to be set forth and placed

So A word if I may?

If you have never lived homeless
Go try a weeks stay
Living on the street while
Shewed and snubbed like a stray
Holes in your pockets
The hot sun in your face
Having to beg for what other's simply toss away
It does not matter what turns one this way
One thing they aren't is soft and lazy
And most often only seek a peaceful shelter
so as not to fall crazy
Such A simple answer lies
In all that lay wasting
Human we all are
Yet humane?
 Hmmm....Not so much here lately
Because there's
Nothing more criminal than the act of homeless hazing
Especially set amongst a backdrop of urban homes left decaying
