  • I don't know if I can help, but I'll try. first off, the common answer to help writing is to read alot. Read the formats in which you are trying to write. Like if you a trying to write short stories, read a bunch of short stories and try to absorb the common techniques. Also, their is the monomyth. This is very well explained in a Glove and Boots youtube video called "The hero's Journey". The rules sound like it would be only for stories like Lord of the Rings. Yet, if you think about it, this formula works for most stories. Check it out, it's good to learn the techniques. Other then that, start small. Don't try anything epic at first. Just try to get something finished. I personally had problems getting anything done till I started with Flash Fiction (500 words max, though I am very loose with the word limit). I've written quite a few of these and have seen major improvement in my work. This is all I can say, write everyday, no matter if it's dribble, you will see progress. Hopefully this gives you some help. If you are truly passionate about this, never give up.

  • Hi Liyah. I'm not sure if this will help but you can give it a try if you want. Always have a notebook and pen ready with you at all times. Scribble your ideas in there. It can be a whole paragraph or a sentence or even just a word. Be present in the moment and keep your eyes open. Write down whatever it is that catches your eye; it could be anything from a beautiful sunset or massive traffic jam or kids playing in the mud, whatever. Just write them down. Then before you go to bed at night, look over your notes and scribbles. They don't have to be related to one another, just read them over. Something in your notes and scribbles might trigger something for you to write about. All the best.💜
