He drove in to the Gas Station a few minutes after midnight. Mindy had been staring at him the entire drive , he was so cute, his bushy beard that made him look so mature and manly and God, his bushy eyebrows and long lashes. For a minute she thought to herself how unfair it was that she had to buy the best mascara to achieve such yet this guy who was on the steering wheel didn't even need them still had it good. The sight of the neon writing "SHELL" had woken her from the thoughts. She loved gas stations at night, they awoke something in her the same way classic movies and romance novels did.
"gotta load for the entire road" Chad said as he got off the navy blue Chevy.
Chad was 6ft tall, light skinned, fairy built guy. His eyes and smile would make a nun blush. He had a way with the ladies. He was effortlessly funny and always sneaked a pun or two into their conversations. Every time Mindy was caught off guard and would let out her beautiful giggle.
This was heaven for her; this dreamy, amazing guy who understood her was hers. She had to pinch herself to make sure she wasn't dreaming. Everyone else had been talking of how he was a ladies man but that was cover of the book that was Chad, it's title given by strangers who had not read it. She got out of the car and followed him. He was just closing the tank when she got to him
"Don't you just wish we could live this way? Travelling, going on these road trips like we don't have the world on our shoulders?" he asked her, eyes filled with so much fulfillment. She kissed him on the lips before he could even continue. Let's live for now Chad. Don't spoil it with the reality of work on Monday and annoying coworkers on Tuesday. He looked at her with those gorgeous eyes of his, without a word. The look in his eyes was enough for her to realize just how much she meant to him.
They got back in the car, driving off into the night. The car needed gasoline to move into this unknown place and she needed Chad to be positive about life.
