*I have a handful of short poems I have written. As part of the process of posting old work in between new stuff, I decided to gather all this work into one post. I chose the picture because the first poem went well with it.* ::Drowned to Live:: I drowned in the lake once. I was murdered by birth and grew tired of being dead. So I drowned myself alive. The water in my lungs taught me to breathe. I truly taste the air now. My eyes now fully functional, I can truly see. Do wish to live miss? I can bring you to life. Join me under the water and become drowned, just like me. ::Fear of the Mixing Pot:: I asked God, "What is wrong with me?" God simply replied, "I created you." Can something be made out of hate? Can something be destroyed with love? Thin lines have become our existance Nothing is black or white Nothing just wrong or just right We escape the mixing pot to seperate ourselves "Green eyes stands here, Red hair stands their." "But sir, I have both. Where do I stand?" "You don't belong." Now we are mixing again Mixed beliefs, mixed race, mixed genders The labels placed to make fools feel safe peel and come off. Now you must open the can to see whats inside. Fear of the unknown returns. They cry out to God, "What's wrong with them?" Simple reply. "I CREATED THEM." ::Ode to Eve:: Eve, mother of mothers, who chose not to be blind Listened to the truth and broke the chain of lies The first oppressed, she sought to be free Gain real knowledge from the fruit of a tree She was not selfish and chose to awaken man Punished for her independence, God's anger brought death to the land What kind of mercy would force those to bleed Keep them oppressed and bare the pain of our seed No respect for the great minds of their sex Only thing matters is the milk from their breasts Fed from and used with no say of their own "Man is king of his castle" the place you call home So rise up, oh daughters of eve Fight for your rights, fight for equality No longer blind, you will make us all see The knowledge of the apple for all to read ::Inside the Cover:: Did you look behind the veil? Or are you conditioned to judge by the cover? Do you believe in what you see? Or do you get to know what is unseen? There is more to that picture then what the eye tells A truth unknown because the image doesn't sell Told to fear knowledge with an apple or a box Never take a bite or look inside, you will become lost But it is a lie, we all need to take that chance Get to know, learn to grow, step out on that branch Nobody wants to miss life cause they closed thier eyes during the exciting parts Sometimes what you find in the light can also be found in the dark. So don't be quick to turn away based on what you see. That ugly path there could be the way to your fantasies. ::Never Past Pain:: The pain is good to know when you're alive So did Reichelt feel pain after he fell from the sky? Did he lie broken screaming he wish he could die? For his body to cease and his pain to survive. Living through love ones with lost that never pass They cant get pass the pain they endured in the past Time in itself has tendencies to cause hurt. Every second to remember lost loves will never return Many over time have bled and left others behind Who in turn still left bleeding deeper inside To carry such pain is a heavy burden to bare You can't simple drop pain, too damaged to repair You may sedate pain with a concoction to consume The pain never retires, soon back on those wounds So nothing to do but embrace this old friend Others come and go, but pain will remain till the end ::How Do I Rate?:: Every smile, every tear, every joy, every fear, I have practiced to endear. I need your stars, I hunger for your likes, If I starve, will you thumbs up what I write? If I bleed, pretend to please, will you feel my need, for you to 5 star what you read? Everything I am facing, everything I am chasing, solely depends on your approval rating. It is social media that keeps me chained, never free from the pain of my desire towards that breif internet fame. Now just a hollow shell, my individuality has gone to hell, I am just what you made me to be, flesh made into another meme.
