She stared at herself in the mirror like she had always done. Something seem to be different this night though. The corner of her eyes seem to have more lines, the creases between her brows were deeper, and her smile line was wider. She notice discoloration in her skin and it looked as though she had aged 10 years almost overnight. She wondered how? She began to look around the room, she was in a bathroom, a room that seems very unfamiliar to her. I have never been here before. Where am I? Did something happen?Did I have an accident? As She reach for the door handle she noticed atop the Shelf was a gown, a hospital gown. She wasn't wearing much of anything but her undergarments and she was cold. She had goosebumps all over, she was also beginning to feel very dizzy and disoriented. She wasn't sure whether it was because of the new environment she was unfamiliar with or if she was actually sick. So she opened the door and when the door opened, it opened to a room with a single bed. Machines that beeped were on both sides of the bed. On the table next to the bed was a notepad, she bent down to read it and it read, we love and miss you with all our hearts Love Mom and Dad. Now, the letter seems odd because to her recollection her and her parents relationship was strained and they did not talk to her that way anymore actually they didn't talk to her at all. She carefully walks across the room a door that looks as though it leeds out, pulling on the handle it refuses to open. She started to bang on the door and said;" hello hello can anybody hear me, I need to speak with somebody can anybody hear me". Just then a voice came over the intercom in the room and said if you will back away from the door someone will be in in a few minutes. Just sit on your bed and put your hands in your lap thank you. Well that was weird she thought where could I possibly be and what did I do. About 8 minutes later what looks to be a nurse enters the room and closes the door behind her with a loud click. She said; "hello there how may I help you"? I asked, what did I do? Why am I here and what's wrong with my face? Honey, she said you don't remember? No I replied. So she began to tell me a little story and it went like this.Around 10 years ago you overdosed on drugs and you were brought into the hospital because you weighed 65 lbs and you were covered in wounds and infection and we thought you were going to die. Your fever was high and you had a bacterial brain infection was so severe you went into a coma and you have been here at our facility for the last 9 and a half years. We have been taking care of you all that time. Your mom and dad come to visit once a month when they can but their hopes have started to dwindle.They will be ecstatic to know. I exclaimed: "oh my" ! I can't believe that happened to me, so- so what do I do now? I will call the doctor and  apprise him of your situation and we will go forward from there but I am very glad to see that you are awake my darling. My name is Mrs. Becca Middleton and I have been your nurse caring for you, for the last 9 years. I prayed everyday that you would wake up, and now you're awake.
