Trust.
Not something we give up so easily. Yet somehow it always ends up in the wrong hands.

For instance, if you were stranded in the middle of nowhere, darkness surrounding your vision. Through the distance twin halos of light bleed through the pitch black, your heart jumps with relief.

A car!
You jump up screaming, waving your arms above your head like a lunatic, till the vehicle comes to a slow stop.

The driver, a bloke who has a nice smile- not that it's as important as the fact that he seems decent enough - offers some assistance.

And, instead of being wary of strangers, like your mamma told you. Quite willingly jump into the passenger seat, glad to be off of the butt hurting sidewalk.
For a while there is an awkward silence, till you feel like you should say something, a word of appreciation perhaps?

So you blurt out a 'thankyou', to which he smiles charmingly, and replies in a similar way.

Satisifed you tell him your address, so that he'll drop you at your door. He doesnt comment, so you figure that he's noted it down mentally.
Realising that the drive may be long you settle your head against the window, and close your eyes - just for a minute.

Blinking rapidly, you peel your eyes open, something rough and unpleasant, muffles your groans, suddenly your not inside the comfy car anymore. And the nice man is now a psycho who happens to wear a sinsiter smirk upon his rugged face.

Movement is out of the question, since your wrists are bound tight to the plush chair your seated upon. Hot tears run down your cheeks, and somewhere in your frightened mind, you kinda wish you were back at the sidewalk, at least you were safe.
