The Body Is Not Beautiful Read Count : 54

In modern times, there seems to be a connection between beauty and the body.

However, in my own eyes, and how I’ve perceived the world, I’ve known the body to affect the face. I’ve known the face to be a product of the soul.

The face reacts to the miseries of the world through facial expressions. The body does its work to shield the eyes from sadness, or from shame, or from horror. If blood stains the floor, then the hands will shield those who fear such a sight.

Misery invites the pain. The body cannot be beautiful, if the body only serves as a function. If slavery exists for the body to be used, then the body cannot be beautiful, if the body is used as nature compels the body to be viewed. The body is known by nature for childbearing, and for destruction. If the body is destroyed, then facial expressions of horror in the deceased will take place.

What of the body, when the body, which has the limbs, destroys the face? If the body was used for slavery, then the body causes the face to retain an eternal stain of torment. Those who are soldiers understand this, as when they return from the war, their eyes and their cheeks are shrouded in darkness. The very darkness where war makes its home.

If art has gained the flavor of politics. Then, art has attained the flavor of progress. What brings progress if not labor, if either through the physical or the metaphysical? Progress is attained through hatred, because every revolution possessed this element of philosophy, “the current system is broken, and must be replaced.” If art no longer breeds comfort, then art is no longer attuned to life. Life, which is attuned to beauty. Beauty, which is attuned to love. If beauty is seen through ugliness, as such the body will undergo when progress is made, either physical or metaphysical, then beauty is perceived through shallow-sightedness, and not through purity.

Beauty must be of the face. It must be seen in the face. In the face, there is the soul. In the soul, either beauty or darkness resides. If the soul is hideous, then so will the face be hideous. If the mind is enslaved, then the face will be hideous. If the body is enslaved, then the face will be hideous. Slavery assumes two forms, as Buddhism describes. The achievement of enlightenment, through body and mind.

As such, beauty cannot be seen in ugliness. Because, in modern times, as beauty is noticed in the body, then beauty is noticed in function. Once function is noticed as beauty, then beauty itself is absent. We do not kiss the breast, before kissing the lips. We will be termed as psychopathic, if such does occur. Beauty is feeble, and it must be conquered. Through that annexation, the beauty is strong, since the beauty is protected. The face should be protected, since the face has reacted to the body or mind’s toil.
