1981 "Jessie! Wait up!" Ravi called me out of the hording, shoving, children crowd as we all tried to push our way through the front doors. I glanced back at him and remarked, "Catch up then I won't have to wait!" Ravi looked at me dumbfounded like as if I just said jumble. Together Ravi and I walked down Jilly Lane, our street that we grew up on and lived on to this day. "What took you so long?" I teased him. "Huh? Ugh!" He became defensive as I chuckled at him. He was always so childish when he was mad. "If it wasn't for Ms. Gitmo keeping us away from the door, I could've gotten out before you when the bell rang!" "Dear, dear Ravi, you could never beat me into the hallways. I'm always first." "Not if Diana was there... You'd let her go first. "Ooooh, Diana you're so beautiful, oooh, you can go first Diana, oooh..." "Would not!" Okay so I may or may not have a friend who's a really pretty girl named Diana that Ravi likes to taunt me with. "You would too! You big softie!" I rolled my eyes at him. It never made me mad that he'd do that, I'd only get upset if he did that near Diana or Butch. Butch is... Well... You'll see. He came marching up to us with his minions beside him, waiting for his command. "Uh oh, let's turn around Jessie, we can take the long way." Ravi suggested, but I was too scared and stunned to pay any mind to him. "Jessie! Jessie come on let's go!" He whispered getting meaner and meaner within the sentence. "Jesssieee..." Ravi broke out into a whine while he tugged on my sleeve that had a wide hole in it. By the time I woke up from drifting off into fear, Butch stood in front of me, looking downwards. As I had to actually lift my head just to see his chest. "Hey there... Bessie! What are you and Gravi doing here? You know this is our sidewalk!" Butch poked me right where my heart is, I could feel it skip a beat. He always called me "Bessie" because I have such long brown hair for a 12 year old boy that I look like a girl. "Gravi" is nicknamed for the first time they ever met... Which is why he's so skittish now. Let's just say, it had to do with with stomping, Gravel, Butch, Ravi, and stitches. "Right well, we'll just be heading over on the other side. Of the street." Ravi nervously laughed. "Not so fast-" and before Butch could say another word, We ran.
