Chapter 4.

The door slammed behind us but we didn’t stop kiss. It was passionate and fast, leaving me breathless but desperate for more. I pulled at his buttons on his uniform but they wouldn’t open.

He giggled, kissing me once more before smiling and resting his body on mine. He watched me, looking at his uniform and he laughed again. “Lola, you are undeniably beautiful and there are many things I would love to do you,” he sighed, standing up “but you are not of age yet,”
“Airyck, plenty of people...” I started but he shook his head.

Walking toward the door before turning around and saying “I have no doubts about our attraction, I have no doubts I want to be with you but I am going to be King one day, I must follow the rules I expect others to abide by,”

I watched him walk away, he closed the door slowly, giving me a slight wave as it closed and I could hear his feet tapping on the grand floor as he walked away.

I laid on the bed for a moment, silently hoping he would come back but I knew he wouldn’t. He was a man of his word. It wasn’t his fault I had been given to him early. The elders wanted me out of my village and I was beginning to wonder why, Lucas being at the matching house today didn’t seem like coincidence to me, it seemed like a trap.

Airyck was clever enough however to know that. Maybe that was why he was being so kind, maybe that’s why he didn’t question me about my powers and maybe that’s why he wont mate with me.

Or I have grown up around frightening, aggressive and sexually toward shifters, who didn’t ask, they took what was theirs. I was part shifter too though, my insides were crying for Airyck, my shifter side wanted him to dominate me but my wizard side appreciated him giving me my own voice.

The Wizards, Shifters and Elves, the three biggest species in the world. Closely followed by the up and coming Rain. The darkest, most evil population to have ever grown to be even close to the size of the population of the Wizards. But they have ignored it.

Airyck being on edge about our mating makes perfect sense when you know all of this. The Elders want to see what happens, they want to see if the dark Elves accept a part Wizard, part Shifter queen and they are waiting for the powers our children will have.

But we don’t have time for mine and Airyck’s children to save our world. I could feel the darkness spreading and so could he. I feel asleep boring myself with the same questions and worries.

I woke early, I found the library in the castle and I started reading. I found scrolls, book and even notebooks, written by the great warrior elves of the past but I couldn’t find any mention of the Rain.

“Maybe look under a different name,” Ada said from behind me. She was leant against the door, slumping and shrugging. I smiled at her but she knew it was a fake smile.

“What has made you think about the Rain?” she asked as she got closer, putting her hand on a scroll to flatten it out and read what I had been reading.
I looked at her. “I can feel it coming.” I told her, I felt no reason to lie to her, she already knew more about me then anyone had ever known.

“Acker thinks some of them are watching us, Airyck thinks they will be coming for the elves soon and Father has tried to tell the elders, they will not listen, they call him negative,” Ada admitted to me.

But as she spoke I began to hear a noise I had heard before. I looked at Ada and said “there is a Wizard here,”
We both ran down the corridor, I turned the corner and bummed into a Wizard, tall, skinny, blond haired and purple eyes. I look at him and shook my head.

“Lola, you don’t belong here,” his voice boomed as the dark elves surrounded him, they couldn’t however get in-between me and the Wizard.
I shook my head “I do belong here,” I said in a very stern voice. The Wizard started to chant but it didn’t work. “Have you forgotten that I am not full Wizard?” I asked him and his eyes turned red.

“NO!” Airyck screamed, trying to get to me but he was the Prince and the guards needed to protect him. I shook my head again before pushing my arm out and the Wizard was blasted into the wall.

I ran to Airyck, hugging him and saying “It’s alright,” but the Wizard got up.
