In New York, a man named Mark Lichen was thanked for his heroic act in stopping a robbery that was going on. The NYPD came to the scene where Mark sat on the sidewalk thinking about what he did. He saved people's lives in the bank that day. It motivates him to become a police officer. He went to police training, passed and became a cadet. After 15 years of service he became the chief of police. Mark was happy with himself. He did what he wanted to do and succeeded. However, one day, Mark was on the job at a crime scene when out of nowhere, he got shot in his back. It hit his spine and he couldn't move. The medics rushed to him and put him on a stretcher. The news was full of reports and Mark's family got the news. They rushed to the hospital to check on him. The doctor said that he will live but it will take three years for him to start walking again. Mark didn't have three years to waist. So he made the best of it. He went to work but he was at a computer all day. He got good pay and was still providing for his family even while injured. His wife didn't like his idea though. She was worried that he would get injured again and even worst. He said "It's fine, we have metal detectors and police officers everywhere." She was still a little worried. After a while she calmed down and though good and then she was fine with him going to work. He worked for three months straight and got very good pay. Three years later, Mark is walking and carrying out his duties as cheif. He then got a call about a bank robbery with hostages. Mark got on his radio and said "There is a bank robbery on the eastern side of New York. Everybody respond immediately." Mark drove down to the bank and talked to the first responding officers. He got alot of information. Also, his wife and two children was also in the bank. Mark was then worried that he would lose his wife that day. He then got on the radio and said "Get to the bank and wait outside. The first responders will go in with me."
