Chapter Sixteen


  Alex and I sat at a table at the coffee shop next to the bank. Sam was standing in line behind James as she “accidentally” bumped into him. He turned back to look at her as she apologized to him. When he saw her the look of annoyance melted from his face. Sam smiled at him and he smiled back, we can see them making small talk and laughing. James offered to buy Sam's drink and she accepted. They both took their coffees and sat at a table at the back of the cafe. They sat there talking for almost an hour when they stood and walked out together. Moments later Alex and I jumped up to follow them. 


  Sam could understand why Stephanie could fall for such a guy. James was handsome and very charming. Although Sam was familiar with his type and had purposely avoided guys like him, he was a textbook narcissist. Sam had bad experiences with men like this when she was younger and learned how to spot the signs. It was time Stephanie knew the truth about James, he was a real pig and Sam already hated him.


  James led Sam to a parking garage behind the bank where he works, we saw them get into the elevator and go up to the second level. Alex and I ran up the stairs so we didn't lose them. As we got to the second level we didn't see them. I started to panic, this wasn't going to work if we couldn't find them. Moments later we heard a car door shut so we followed the sound. Alex saw them first and held out her hand to stop me from going any further. I stopped and looked in the direction Alex was pointing. 


  This guy was brave, in his car behind the bank he worked at? That didn't take long at all. Alex had her phone up to record Sam and James so we would have proof to show Stephanie that James didn't really love her. James sat in the passenger seat of his little two seater BMW while Sam straddled him while she lifted up her skirt. James’ hands gripped her ass as she fucked him right there in the car. 


  Twenty minutes later they both got out of the car so Alex and I headed for the stairs and back to the cafe. We waited for what seemed like forever until Sam walked through the door and sat next to us at the table. “Did you get it?” Sam asked. Alex said she got it all and said she was surprised how easy and quick it was. Sam agreed as she asked to see the video. She sat there watching with a smile saying that this was perfect. 


  Sam just knew that Stephanie would be pleased to know that she didn't have to waste her time on James anymore. Sometimes the truth is all one needed to move on and just let go of the person who continues to hurt you. I can see that Sam felt good doing something to help a fellow woman. 


  It was around lunchtime when we made it back to camp to find the guys sitting around drinking and Kevin was cooking. We didn't tell them where we were headed when we got up and left this morning but Sam was excited to share her plan with them. 


  Kevin handed us all plates as we walked up and lifted the foil where the burgers were being kept warm. They smelled so good. The smell of bbq and salty ocean air should be bottled and sold. It was one of those smells that brought back memories of camping when my kids were younger, and all the good times we had. I filled my plate with Kevin's famous potato salad and sat down to eat. I was starving, we left so early this morning and in the course of a few hours we only had coffee so I dove in without a word. 


  Sam was too excited to eat so she picked at her food while she told the guys what we had been up to. Mac laughed and said he couldn't wait to see Stephanie's face. Danny and the others begged to see the video, so Alex handed them her phone. Although they were excited about her plan, they also loved watching Sam have sex. In fact we all got off on that. Everything she did was beautiful and sexy, it was hard not to watch her. 


  Kevin suggested we invite her over again and show her the video, kind of like an intervention of sorts. We all knew it would initially be hard for her to see, but with us all there to support her she would come around. James was a monster hiding in designer suits and he didn't deserve someone like Stephanie.


  Mac said he was in need of a haircut so he would stop by Stephanie's shop to get a cut and then he would invite her over. The rest of us went shopping for dinner and wine for tonight. We were excited and couldn't wait for Stephanie to see the video.


   The breeze started to pick up bringing a chill to the air so Alex began building a fire. Kevin was busy preparing for dinner with the help of Sam and Danny. I was arranging the chairs around the fire when Evol and Mac got back from their walk. They wanted to get some shots of the sunset at the beach before Stephanie arrived. She was supposed to be here around 730 and we were expecting her any moment.


  Kevin was out grilling steaks when Stephanie arrived carrying a bottle of wine. Wearing dark jeans that hugged against her beautiful curves and knee high boots with a light pink cashmere sweater, she was stunning. Her long blonde hair had been straightened and fell down her back like a silk scarf. She greeted Mac with a little hug and a kiss on the cheek. I got up to say hello and she handed me the bottle of wine and came in for a hug. I got a whiff of her perfume and it smelled like flowers. Everything about her was flawless.


  Sam stepped out of the RV, her hair was up in a messy bun and she wore black leggings and a burgundy sweater that hung off of one shoulder. Sam was always beautiful, she could wear a garbage bag and still look sexy. 


  Sam smiled and greeted Stephanie with a hug and a small peck on the cheek. I handed Sam the bottle of wine and asked if she would open it. She invited Stephanie inside as she poured a glass for herself and Stephanie then brought the bottle outside with extra glasses for anyone else to who might want some. 


  I invited Stephanie to have a seat close to the fire. Danny found our little radio and put on some music while Mac poured the rest of us some wine. Conversation was good and flowing while Kevin finished grilling the steaks. We were starting on our second bottle when it was time to eat.


  We all laughed and enjoyed the delicious dinner Kevin had made. It was already dark out when we cleaned up after eating and we decided to sit around the fire and enjoy a glass of whisky that Mac had poured for us. Soon the conversation slowed and we all sat staring into the flames as if it were telling us a story. 


  Stephanie broke the awkward silence as she smiled and told us that things with her and James were better. Apparently she wanted to thank us for having no judgements when we found her that night in the alley. She knew she had sunk to a new low and was embarrassed to have gotten caught. James met with her tonight before coming over and said he had finally told his wife that he wanted a divorce and soon they could be together.


  Sam was angry, she knew he was lying. James had no problem sleeping with her, a stranger he had never met, he was a pig and it was time Stephanie knew the truth. Sam stood up and invited Stephanie inside the RV, Alex and I joined them as the guys stayed outside by the fire. They knew it was best they let us handle it. 


  You could tell Stephanie was confused as she sat down at the table next to Sam. She looked at all of us with an awkward smile then focused her eyes on Sam. Sam told her that even though she knew Stephanie loved James it was time she knew the truth. I told Stephanie that James isn't the guy she thinks he is. Her smile faded as she questioned us, she asked if we were joking and said she didn't understand what we were talking about. 


  Alex pulled out her phone and handed it to Sam. She told Stephanie that this was going to be difficult to see but that it was important she know the truth. Sam pushed play. Stephanie's face went from confused, to sad, then to anger. She grabbed Alex's phone and hit Sam in the head with it as she screamed. Sam had blood dripping down her eyes as she tried to fight off Stephanie. 


  Alex jumped up and grabbed Stephanie and held her tight with her arms down at her side. She was screaming so I shoved a towel deep in her mouth. Alex kept telling her to calm down when Danny swung open the door to find Sam on her knees almost delirious. There was so much blood, but head wounds tended to bleed profusely. He picked Sam up off the floor and propped her up on the counter by the sink and began to clean her wound. 


  Alex carried Stephanie into the bathroom where she kept trying to fight her off. Evol jumped in with duct tape and Kevin held Stephanie's legs while he taped her legs together. Then they both took her from Alex as she was getting tired and was losing her grip on Stephanie. Evol punched Stephanie and threw her face down on the bed. Kevin grabbed her now limp arms and taped them up behind her. 


  Evol rolled her limp body over on the bed and taped her mouth shut then picked her up and they both shoved her in the storage space under the bed. Once Stephanie was under control we all surrounded Sam who was now clearly very angry. How dare Stephanie react that way to her. Sam said that she was just trying to help her see the truth. 


  Danny bandaged up the small cut on Sam's forehead and we all sat in silence wondering what to do now when Sam spoke up and asked where Stephanie's phone was. She got up and started looking around for it. The rest of us stood up to help. I mentioned that she had it with her at the table before Alex handed Sam her phone. 


  Sam got on the ground to look under the table but it was dark, she searched around with her hands and found it. She was still a little dizzy when she tried to get up so Danny helped her up. Sam had a look on her face that we had never seen before, she was angry, but that wasn't it. There was something else going on. We all stared at her in questioning silence waiting to hear her plan.


  Sam asked me if I could cover her wound with makeup and said that we had to clean this place up. She said we all had to hide so he would think they were alone. “Who? Sam what are you talking about? You sound crazy!!” Danny yelled.


  “JAMES! , I am talking about fucking James!!” Sam snapped back as if we were just supposed to know. Danny got up and Mac calmly slid in beside Sam at the table. He gently put his arm around Sam and slid his glass of whisky over to her. Sam picked it up, her hands still shaking as she took a swig and slammed it down. Mac then asked, “What's the plan sweetheart, how can we help?”


  Sam explained that she needed to call James and invite him over. She wanted that bitch to know the truth about him. We really didn't know what she had planned but we went along with it. Sam showered while we cleaned the place up. When she was out of the shower I did her hair and makeup and by then it was pretty late, but she insisted it was time.


  Sam jotted down James’ phone number from Stephanie's phone and Alex and I walked with her to the payphone by the reservation office. She dialed the number, we heard several rings before we heard a man's voice “This is James” is how he answered his phone. Sam, in her sexy voice said hi. She went on to remind him of their rendezvous in the car earlier that day. He was confused how she got his number. She explained that it was simple to find out where he worked and figured it out from there. 


  After Sam explained that his voice changed. He seemed happy to hear from her. So Sam went on to tell him that she needed to see him again before she left. She gave him the information where we were staying and hung up. James would be here soon so Alex and I needed to go hide behind the RV in the dark with the boys. Sam assured us that it was going to be ok.
