Moon, held hostage til dawn, unwilling witness to my nightmare, begging

.....Forget Child

Darkness, swallowing the last sliver of light, faintly whispers

...Remember

Silvery shadows of yesterday, slinking in, bidding me

....Remember

Moon, beacon in the inky black of my blindness, soothing me...Forget

Gnarled limbs, whispering about, a macabre dance in the breeze

beckoning me....Remember

Wind, carrying echoes of long ago, mockingly pleads....Remember

Moon, oh faithful friend, keeper of the secrets of my soul, crying with me

... Forget

Memory, tugging at the strings of my soul, impatient, demanding

.... Remember

Morning, a Trojan horse, sunlight invading, laying bare my wounds... Remember

Moon, my own soul soldier, slowly vanishing, becomes my Sin Eater, licking my plate clean, taking my shame within

....Forget Child.
