...Ren dashed off, devil following close behind. He was almost out of breath, and devil was yet to break a sweat. He had never faced such a powerful individual as this evil maniac, and he surely had picked the wrong battle.
He dodged a missile and doubled his speed. He was careful not to use too much energy, or else he would fall easy prey to devil. Devil wore a sinister smile on his face, confident that he would get the jujitsu warlord.
Ren stopped when he got to the end of the forest. It was a dead end; a vast valley surrounded by tall mountains he could not fly over. He was cornered, and he knew it.
Devil slowed down until he had stopped running. He laughed hysterically, and asked
"How further can you run now, mortal?"
Ren turned to face him, trying to make an angry face to cover up the fear in his eyes, but devil couldn't be deceived.
"Haha... I can smell your fear, mortal. You know you have no chance of beating me. I will give you a chance to continue living; Bow to me and I will spare your life"
Ren stopped to think, his face relaxing a little. If he submitted to devil, he would be spared, but then he would betray the oath to serve the purpose of the light and protect all the citizens of the sunflower state. Most importantly, he thought of his colleagues. They would never forgive him for taking sides with devil.
"Never! I will never bow to you and your evil forces." Ren fired, as he regained his wits.
Devil sighed and shook his head. How come mortals are so foolish, he thought. He brought out his staff and charged at Ren.
Their weapons clashed and caused a big wave through the whole valley. The mountains shook and the earth quaked...
