I think we all know a narcissist in our lives. Maybe it's you, if you dont check yourself now and again. Being very aware of your own emotions, thoughts and actions is critical to identifying a narcissist and identifying any narc traits in yourself too.

The narcissist needs to control and needs to dominate. If you feel, on a very deep level, that you're in the prescence of someone who makes you feel worthless and weak with their words and actions, then you are probably in the company of a narcissist.

The narc requires your submission to operate. They desire to own your mind. They want to break you down and re-build you in the image they see fit. This is narcissistic bullying. The narc goes far beyond thinking they're Gods Gift in the looks department. 

They believe they are smarter, more eloquent, more savey and more charismatic than most. 

To a degree, everybody has a bit of narcissism or arrogance to them. For example, I believe Im better at writing or spelling than most people. To keep this arrogance in check, I have to check myself and be careful not to judge anyone else over their spelling. It's a 'sticking point' with me.

However, I don't want to denigrate anyone elses whole world, like the narc does.

Never forget that deep down, Narcs are weak. They lack a sturdy sense of self esteem and foundation to their own sense of self. Their world is an illusion. Who they appear to be, is an illusion. 

They are the weak ones.  The ones who are most consistently kind and giving are the strongest ones.
