You were scared. You are still scared. Scared I'm going to realize that your flawless smile has nothing in common with the fractured parts that make up who you are.

You were abandoned a few too many times by those who were meant to hold you close. You are haunted by that in the moments when you are faced with love.

You are afraid to connect to me for fear that I am fleeting. But I have always been the type to reach for the stars and though I reached out to you, you were afraid.

Afraid that I had made a mistake. That I would leave you like the rest as soon as I saw what you have kept hidden. You pushed me away before I had the chance to show you what I'm truly made of.

I saw the breaks and cracks, I saw the crooked lines and shattered memories, I saw the aches and pains, I saw it all. And yet, I still love you all the same.
