Day by day, month by month, year by year....
we collected bricks for each hurt and fear.
We began to build a wall....
after many years, the wall became quite tall.
The wall we built for protection,
became a prison of isolation.
We tried to build in perfect stacks,
our walls are strong yet had some cracks.
The cracks became a blessing in disguise,
for through them, we heard each other's cries.

We started to talk, consoled each other,
we realize we can face our past together.
But our walls, they are tall and very thick,
so together, we slowly unstacked them brick by brick.
Each brick we held brought so much pain,
but the thought of company was more to gain.
Finally, the walls have fallen.
And seeing each other was truly golden.

Now, we are together surrounded with bricks.
We stack them back again to see what sticks.
Now, we are not building walls of isolation,
but we are building a home for our own protection.
The bricks of the past that cost us so much sorrow,
became our building blocks for a better tomorrow.
