Chapter 10 Orion's wrath

Upon arriving at Belazel Illia and Xyphas discovers something sinister being plotted by the humans, An orbital strike station capable of destroying a planet in one strike. Though its construction seems to be incomplete it is still capable of delivering a massive impact on its target... And its target... Styx.

(Illia slowly backs away from all the computers showing the space station Orion, She dropped her scythe as she thinks of the things that's likely to happen)

Illia* No... This is forbidden. The Styxians forbade this kind of technology, this will destroy the planet.

(Xyphas tried to use the computers to see its construction and its launch to space once completed)

Xyphas* Hmm this seems to be operational... And the Launch has been delayed. It was supposed to be in space 3 days ago. It seems they are missing a component.

(Illia slowly walks backward towards the door, and to her surprised she bumped into someone, That someone was Renue)

Illia* Huh!? (Illia turns around) Renue... Its you.

(Renue took his helmet off and held Illias shoulders)

Renue* Are you alright? Have you seen the general?

(Illia was too shaken to answer)

Xyphas* This place is empty when we got here... Take a look Praetorian.

(Xyphas showed Renue every image, Plans and the structure of Orion)

Renue* An orbital space station... This technology is not allowed. Its been banned by the intergalactic planetary preservation pact. The humans are building this?

Xyphas* Yes... And its almost complete. They're just missing a piece to complete it. And that's the orb of annihilation. With its energy it will be able to sustain the space station for eternity. 

Renue* Then we must not let them have this. (Renue uncovers the stone of annihilation from his bag)

(Xyphas grabs the stone from Renue with his ethereal hands)

Xyphas* You are a fool for bringing this here! This is what they needed! And you just brought it to them.

(An unknown voice suddenly spoke from within the room, It was from one of the cameras that was placed in the Computer room)

Unknown voice* So you've seen our plan... I'm afraid I will be confiscating that "Relic" That you have there... 

(Suddenly the vents released some type of tranquilizing gas that slowly enveloped the room)

Xyphas* Nerve gas! 

(Unfortunately it was already too late, the Gas have already knocked out Illia and Renue)

Xyphas* I have to do something quick... (Xyphas fiddled with the computers to see if he can stop the gas from entering the chamber)

Unknown voice* Its over... We have subdued your army in Belazel, no one is going to come.

Xyphas* Do I look like I care? I only needed the orb for myself. Hmm perhaps a taste of its powers would shake things up a bit.

(Xyphas then starts channeling the power of the Orb aimed at the walls of the room, Unfortunately before Xyphas was able to complete his channeling of power. He was subdued by Soldiers who entered the room with Gas masks, and Gravity guns, They shot Xyphas and made him incredibly heavy to levitate)

Xyphas* Always foiled...

(As the Soldiers take both Renue and Illia away, Xyphas was left behind for good)

Unknown voice* We will be detonating The building soon. So non of our plans ever get out and spread. But before then I will be taking the orb of annihilation from you.

(Xyphas tries hard to get off the floor)

Xyphas* Perhaps I did not see that coming... Do you mind telling me where you will be taking them?

Unknown voice* Do you take me for a fool? I know who you are Xyphas. Take the stone from him.

(The soldiers pried the orb from Xyphas' ethereal hands and put it in a glass container)

Xyphas* Whoever you are... I will find you... And when I do, Your blood will decorate the ground... And the walls, everything really.

Unknown voice* That's sweet of you... Well we need to get this space station in outer space. So excuse us. --transmission cut-

(The building in which Xyphas was left alone began to rumble... Computers fall from the tables and the cameras fall from the ceiling. Belazel will be launching Orion, In a couple of seconds a massive rocket ascends to outer space. It then detach several pieces and revealed its massive cannon that now orbits Styx)

Xyphas* If I can't take this planet, no one can. 

(Xyphas struggled to free himself from the pull of gravity that was multiplied but to no avail, So he then tried out something new)

Xyphas* Hmm this is not working... I need to get off of this floor. 

Computer: Self destruct sequence has been initiated: building will self destruct in T-minus 20 seconds... Please proceed to emergency evacuation route. Thank you and have a safe and productive day.

Xyphas* Ahahahaha... Isn't that nice, they have a positive feedback from me for that wonderful message. The blast will not kill me. But I bet I will be buried in this rubble. I've used my portal ether... I only have one transport method left; and that's lightning travel. 

(Xyphas absorbed all ether in the room, He then focused its power in his static mouth. But there was no way for him.to get stricken by lightning deep within the building... So he had other plans for it. He then unleashed a massive bolt energy and magnetized himself thus allowing him to crawl through the walls of the building. Inside the building walls were steel foundation. Now Xyphas is mobile again)

Xyphas* Yes... Now its my turn. I must get Illia... I don't know where they took them, but I have my guesses. For that I would need a host. 

(Xyphas slowly drained the place of energy and electricity as he ventured outside the building, dead people and ruined buildings can be seen scattered)

Xyphas* These are human, Praetor and Undead... No living host for me. It will be dawn in a few hours. I best be going.

(Before the Belazel building self destructed, Xyphas was able to lightning warp away from the explosion)

(Praetorians can be seen fleeing the night sky. Stalker ships retreating from Almorica. The mission was a failure and it is uncertain what would happen next.)

Meanwhile...

(Illia and Renue were chained up to a wall inside a mitigation shield. Illia slowly wakes up and find herself chained up)

Illia* We've been captured...

(An unknown human with white hair and wearing regal military uniform spoke as he slowly approached Illia)

Unknown Human* That's very observant of you... Uhmm... Undead. 

Illia* You human scum!

Unknown* I am not human scum... I am the High General Sanko. And you undead... Are my prisoner. Including that Alien of course.(points to Renue)

Illia* I'm gonna skin you alive when I get out of this.

General Sanko* Fret not we will be executing you soon. Right after we show you the power of Orion...

(Illia spits on the generals face and looks him in the eyes with disgust)

Illia* My kind welcomed you with open arms... And what do you do? Stab us in the back with a knife. 

(General Sanko wiped his face and was a bit confused to Illia was talking about)

General Sanko: Huh? Your kind? What do you mean?

Illia* The STYX!

General Sanko* The Styxians? The styxians are dead and so is their laws. This planet now belongs to the strongest race. But are you saying you are a styxian? My my... What the Order would give just to disect you.(takes a sniff at Illia) hmm you need a bath... And you look good too... Perhaps sending you in my quarters would suffice my lonely nights.

(Renue slowly wakes up, Groggy but handling his mind well)

Renue* Where am I?

Illia* Renue...

General Sanko* Well that's a good question actually. Right now you are located at Betelan Garrison. One of our War stations.

(Renue tries to set himself free from the chains that bound him to the wall)

General Sanko* Naughty Naughty...

(General Sanko punched Renue in the abdomen, but Renue did not budge)

General Sanko* Oh yeah... Skin of iron... Pfft... But enough talk. Let me show you why I brought you here...

(Renue is carefully observing the high general)

(General Sanko clicked a remote and showed a holographic image featuring Orion.)

General Sanko* Its beauty... This is the pride of humanity... And with this We will make sure king Aramat will think twice in using his Xurgan weaponry.

(Renue and Illia was surprised and looked at one another)

Renue* You know about it?

General Sanko* Everyone knows... That's why the order is in disarray.
The threat is real... And we must eliminate it. We cannot move because majority of the order is Warden species. So... In demonstration to its glory... Here is Orion...

(General Sanko orders the orbital strike cannon and pointed it towards Castle Schrade)

General Sanko* Now fire!

Illia* NOOOOOO!!!

(The orbital cannon "Orion" Let's loose a powerful uranium Rod coated with the Orb of annihilation energy. And once it descended onto Schrade it decimated the land and everything around it... Even the graveyard of ancients and the forest of mist)

(Illia turns her eyes away from the damage it caused)

Illia* Noooo...

(Renue became enraged)

Renue* You monster. How could you casually fire a forbidden intergalactic weapon???

General Sanko* we need to always come up with something that will defend us... The Undines have the Kraken, The Gurkha's have the Desert Titan. The Wardens have the Phoenix. The Morphers with the Mirror of truth. And now we have Orion... And with it... Freedom!
