*Ah, the perfect weapon* Twenty-two year old, Alaina Branche thought slyly as she made her way past the overgrown icicles that now dangled and sparkled down the sides of her home. *Of course, I can't do it that way. I have something much more meticulous and heartwrenching in mind. To make him feel the way I feel.* Alaina made her way inside with her "groceries" and started to set up her work station. It was a cold December night when Alaina finally decided to do what needed to be done. But first, maybe we should take a visit about four years in the past. You have to understand why she had to murder her best friend, who was making their way over to her house completely obtuse to the Hell that they would be in very soon... It's 2011. ALAINA I'm a senior in high school, so I don't have much to do. Work a few hours part-time at a burger joint downtown, or smoke some weed with my friends occasionally. I have always considered us to be the "hippie stoners" at school. We are old souls inside our young ages, just looking for an escape from our everyday realities. Ryan, Hadley, and Matt were my family. No, family isn't always blood. These three kept me whole and happy and showed me some of the most incredible years of my life. We were a pretty wild group to say in the least. However, we have always taken loyalty, family, and our friendships extremely seriously. To us, we owned the world and could conquer anything together. Little did we know, within our tightly knit circle of friends was a cold-blooded murderer. Chapter Two: Present Day, Alaina - 2015. *I always thought we would grow old together. No matter where life could have taken any of us, I always felt a deep and cosmic type of pull toward my best friends. Even their families felt like true family to me and even treated me as such. It all felt so right at the time. Some of us won't grow old together, though. Some of us will never speak another word to each other again. Life and adulthood completely rocked our little worlds. Oh, to go back and feel that way again. To feel invincible. To feel... like a family again.* Alaina thought for what seemed like the millionth time as she carefully covered the entire inside of her garage with about a thousand dollars worth of plastic wrap. *He'll be here soon... and he actually thinks I want to talk about forgiving him. Ha! Over his breathless body. Maybe then I can forgive him... maybe.* ***To Be Continued! Thank you for your patience and kind messages/comments.***
