The storm rages upon the pitiful raft that tries desperately to keep itself together. Wave after wave comes crashing down trying to pry off the man clinging to the raft. He fights not to lose his grip and sink into the abyss that is the throne to the death god, Mortem. At the moment, when the last drop of strength of this man is about to give way, the storm settles down to a calm. Like a child who has exhausted themselves from throwing a temper tantrum, all that remains of the storm's rage is the wailing wind. The man gets up on his feet using the makeshift mast to keep balance. "Is that all you got?" The man taunts, "I do not fear your kind any longer. The gods have forsaken me and I in return shall forsake you. Oppression of mortal kind will be over." No response is givin until the man sees a form, floating in the water, come into view. Soon more follow. Just blobs floating stiff towards him. Once they get close enough to recognize, the man can tell that they are bodies. They reach the raft and it is not long before over a hundred of them surround the man. "You think your illusions will frighten me?" The man asks. The bodies around the raft start moving in the water. Their arms and legs begin swimming motions. In unison, they all raise their heads out of the water. A choir of dead whispers come forth from them. "You will die with us. In the sea of Mortem, no one survives." As the hands of the closest corpses grabs the raft and attempts to topple it, the man pulls his sword from it's sheath on his back. He swings the sword, cutting away at the wrists of the corpses. Chunks of bloated dead flesh fly here and there. It's not enough, as the watery horde overruns him. The man falls, hits his head, blacks out, and sink into the depths. In the darkness, the man recalls the moments that lead him to be cast out on the raft. When he still believed that gods actually cared and looked after mortals they supposedly created. When the man known as Ramis Darthon had faith.
