If I bared my soul
For all to see
I'd do it with a mirror
Right in front of me
I'd want a front row seat
To learn what makes me special or quite unique
To see right past physical impurity
I wonder would I be brought down upon one knee
In the simplest of sincerety
Or would I be shook to my deepest core
And left to shake in unquenchable horror
This one simple curiosity
Has brought me to believe
That it lies mostly in what I feed
And Survival draped up in civility
Has left me dark and feeling quite empty
So with a humbling of my own way
I hope to learn of what others say
And within that knowledge maybe I can come to simply brighten another's day.
