The sounds of birds faded into existence. A boy, about the age of seven, woke up. He stared at the cuts covering his arms and hands, oblivious to the fact that he awoke in the heart of a forest. Tears rolled down his cheeks as he repeated the words "mum" and "pa". Fog started to form in the area around him, darkening everything. The boy curled up in fear and sobbed, pleading for help. He cried and cried, until a beam of light pierced through the fog. He got up and wiped the tears from his dirty face, following the trail ahead of him until a small stream of water appeared before him. Delirious from thirst, he dunked his head into the murky water and drank from it, ignoring the muddy texture. A fox was staring at him as he gasped for air. It made a noise, trying to get the boy to follow it. Out of curiosity, he followed the fox until he saw a waterfall in the distance, which he ran to and stared in awe.
