I don't have to write of despair. 
Loss of love or even my hair.
Nor will I write of depression. 
Like it's the latest of writer's fashion. 
My words won't speak of me hating.
Or your traggity that now I'm relating.
My words will be of love.
Or about my Lord above.
Or maybe my favorite food.
But not something vulgar and crude.
I still respect what you write.
Whether it's dark or light.
I'm a poet and so are you.
And I will always give you your due.
