Chapter 3

I wake up in a field of roses, they go on forever, or at least as far as my eyes can see. I look around for Arlene but she is nowhere to be seen. I look myself over, however, I have no cuts or broken bones. I get up and feel fine, just like nothing ever happened. Am I in heaven, possibly I guess. I get to my feet, I feel different very strange actually. He starts to walk through the field and after walking for a while he eventually comes to the end of the roses. There is a beautiful woman dressed in a gown that looks old-fashioned he would guess from the 60's. Her red hair flows down to the middle of her back, she points for him to go back. He can finally see beyond the woman, there is a dark dead looking forest. There are no leaves on any of the trees. It's covered in a thick fog. Michael asks "where am I?" The lady gives him a soft smile and says "I told you not to be frightened, Michael, this is where you make the transition to your new life."
