"I'm so excited!" Keziah exclaimed. Her bright brown eyes gleaming with excitement. It was the first day of school, and she loved school.

"Only you would be excited," Her best friend, Gianna, mumbled. She wasn't what you called bubbly; probably why they got along so well, Gianna was more serious, and introverted, Keziah was bubbly, and extremely extroverted.

Keziah giggled, "Probably, but that's okay. This is our last year, you got to embrace it, Gianna!"

Gianna groaned, "That's probably the only exciting thing, that it is our last year.." She trailed off.

They both walked to their first class, and took the seats up front. They always sat up front, just to get more information and not be distracted.

"I heard there is a new English teacher, and supposedly he's "hot"." The quotations made Keziah laugh. Last time they heard a teacher was hot, he was in his 50's.

"Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it," Keziah commented. They both got their notebooks out, and their pens.

"Ugh, if it isn't for the nerds." The female voice made the two girls roll their eyes instantly.

Lauren Periski. The supposed Queen Bee of the school. Keziah and Gianna thought otherwise. To their belief she was a manipulative, two faced, and decieving girl.

"Hi.. Lauren, nice to see.. You came in time for class." Keziah tried to think of something nice to say.

Gianna on the other hand, "Rather be a nerd than boy crazy, lying, fake girl." Keziah looked at her wide eyed, and Lauren gasped, sucking her teeth.

"Whatever." Her brilliant remark made Gianna smile in victory. Lauren took a seat in the back, and the teacher suddenly walked in.

"Good morning students. My name is Mr. Cook, I'm your new English teacher." His deep voice had everyone's attention.

They weren't kidding. He was gorgeous, his 6'3 frame, and his icy blue eyes. His sharp 5 o'clock shadow, and his jawline, could slice a finger.

Keziah shrugged, deciding to push it aside, she was more excited for the essay challenges.

Mr. Cook's eyes suddenly turned to Keziah, and his jaw semi dropped. In his years of teaching he hadn't seen such beauty.

"Hi..." She awkwardly mumbled, her hands doing a slight wave.

"And you are??" His eyes gazing into her eyes. A little spark of desire flaming in his chest.

"Ah, I apologize.. I'm Keziah." Her soft, bright smile making the desire flaming higher in his chest.

"Well, Keziah, I hope you can meet my expectations, I have pretty high standards." Mr. Cook winked at her.

Keziah laughed, "Well, I'll certainly try my best." Oblivious to the fact that he was flirting.

Lauren raised her hand, wishing she was sitting in the front now. She was determined to get this teacher to be hers.

"Yes.." Mr. Cook quickly averted his gaze to Lauren.

"How old are you?" She asked batting her eyelashes. Gianna rolled her eyes, knowing she was going to ask a stupid question like that.

"Well, that isnt important or even relating to English, now is it Ms..." He waited for a name. He knew these kinds of girls, it was the ones that annoyed him.

"Lauren. My name is Lauren." Her flirty smile caused Mr. Cook to inwardly roll his eyes.

"Well, Lauren. You better meet my expectations," He stated. His tight smile, and serious eyes.

"Oh, I will.." She giggled.

"No she won't," Gianna blurted.

Mr. Cook set his gaze on Gianna, believing every word she just said.

"Will anyone?" He asked Gianna. She quickly pointed to Keziah.

"She will." Keziah blushed, glaring at Gianna.

"Oh, I believe it," His husky undertone sent shivers up Keziah's back. She suddenly felt uncomfortable, and he set his gaze back on Keziah.

"Well, let's get started, shall we?"

After class, Mr. Cook held her back. She shyly walked up to his desk.

"Yes, Mr. Cook?" He smiled up at her, appreciating her manners.

"I've seen your past English grades, you're way above smart. So, by the next month I might need you to be a tutor," He explained.

Keziah smiled, "Well, I'm at your service, whatever you need me for, I'll be around."

"Oh, I sure hope so." With that Kezoah walked out of the class, as a dark smile surfaced Mr. Cook's lips. She was a rarity, a rarity he was planning to keep.
