    She tells me that a wolf, large and fierce, attacked them. Her husband and her spent days inside, waiting for it to leave. One day her husband was so desperate he devised a last resort. He cut off her hand, to cook and lure the wolf to a specific spot. 
    After some time preparing, they unlocked the door and let it in. That was when everything went wrong. The wolf was smarter and stronger than they thought. It picked up her husband in it's mouth and drug him to the trap upstairs. When all was said and done the creature left the woman alone and lumbered into the woods.
    I remember it all now. I look to Mary and ask her what she would do if she met the wolf now. She smiles and signs, " I would thank them for taking away my abusive husband and cover for them legally."
    I tell her who I am, Ashley Howl. I come from a long line of where-wolfs and that wolf was me. She smiles and tells me she suspected as much because of the blood. 
    We clean the house and burn then bury the awful man, the real monster. I go on my way, but, I will never forget this endeavor.
