Not long after Ramis enters the void, the void unfolds around him. It is like pulling open your eyelids after a dark dream. Ramis finds himself in some torchlit catacombs. Around him he could feel the eyes of the skulls burning into him. At his feet, he finds thick blood trails. They run in all directions around the place. Ramis moves foward down the pathway in front of him.

Even as he walks, he can hear shuffling echoing through the place. He turns left, then few feet more, turns right. The place is a labrythn of eternal rest. That is, except who ever is shuffling and leaving trails of blood. The low light, the amount of blood, cause images of the Goddess's private quaters keep flashing in Ramis's mind. No matter how hard he tries to block them, he keeps seeing them. Still he presses on.

After so many turns that Ramis losses count, he ends up in a dead end of a large room. Only one exit and that's how he entered. Over against the right corner, stands a shrine. Above it, words etched into the wall. Ramis walks over to read them.

::Praise for The Mother, Her mercy is unending, she brings the gift of death for all. Life is the lie. It is truly death, and when your dead, you are truly living. The ever-loving mother death wants us to embrace her compassion. To see us all truly dead, breaks her heart. With her very touch, she can make you breathe the first time. You will open your eyes as you become truly born. Death, Our mother, You love is our guide to life::

Ramis begins to believe sanity left home. The shuffling gets louder and sounds as if it is in the same room. Ramis turns and sees a sickly thin man shuffle his feet out of the shadows. He is barely skin strapped to bone. Rips of flesh in his face show no muscles, just parts of his skull. From the man's wrist flows waterfalls of blood. He leave trails as he shuffles through it.

"You…." The sickly man weakly starts, "You share the same affliction I once had." He keeps shuffling towards Ramis.

Ramis stays his ground, "What affliction is that?"

"You were born dead. I too was once dead. Then I did this." The sickly man raises his wrists up. "The mother brought me to true life. I'll never be dead again. Do you wish help to life?"

Ramis thinks of the words on the wall, "No thank you, I prefer to stay dead. Could you show me the way out?"

"Why would you stay dead? The pain you must suffer, life can free you." The sickly man looks shocked

"I must suffer longer, to make sure that I see the end of the suffering the gods cause." Ramis says.

"I see, You do service for the mother. A brave and noble soul are you, to fullfill mother's task even while suffering death." The sickly man says back.

Ramis thinks of the young girl with the grey hair. He remembers the dying man calling her mother. That is before he died and resurrected as a beastial man.

"Can you show me a way out of here?" Ramis ask.

The sickly man grins, showing off jawbone under his teeth. He shuffles over to the wall behind him and begins smearing his blood, up and down, along it. He paints a crimson rectangular shape.

The sickly man then chants, "Mater Aperire Viam"

The red color over the blood grows brighter and brighter. The blood becomes light and the part of the wall painted in it, vanishes. When the light dies down, in its place, stands a doorway back into the void.

"What is that darkness?" Ramis ask, as he walks over to the doorway.

"That is the void that seperates the fragments." The sickly man answers.

"Fragments of what?" Ramis stops in front of the doorway, next to the sickly man, staring into the void.

"Reality." The sickly man shuffles his way back to the shadows with the blood trail following. Ramis watches him dissappear in the shadows, then turns, and plunges himself through the doorway.
