It is amazing how Love flourishes. Today I saw a beautiful flower growing in the shadows of an old dumpster. From the position it was in, sprouting through a crack in the back corner, it probably never got any real sunlight at all, but incredible, there it was. I stood there staring with my garbage bag in hand for several moments.

Love is resilient. I image when they poured the foundation for this area they did it in a deliberate way; to discourage any type of growth. I've seen the construction, how they dig up the place, lay loose mesh squares of re bar, pour in the cement, and when it all dries, lay their half wall of cinder block on three sides to make a nice cozy, plant free place where they can throw the garbage.  But there it was, this flower...

It birthed a hope within me. Even in those places I never thought love would bloom for me, those place broken by neglect and filth, it can find a way to come. It was a sign.
