"You dare to speak back to me!!" the man screamed as he back handed the boy. The boy clinched his fist in anger and stood to his feet. He looked at his father standing there with hatred written on his face. They boy released the gust of air he was holding, relaxed himself grabbed his bags and walked towards the door. "Phoenix come back here we're not done talking!" his father screamed as the boy left.

When Phoenix arrived at school he was greeted with the noise of teenagers rushing throughout the halls. "Phoenix what's up man"? The voice behind him asks. Phoenix turned to see who was speaking and was suddenly met with a certain person's brightest smile. "Thaddaeus remember when we talked about personal space"? Phoenix pulled back and asked. "And remember when we talked about NOT calling me Thaddaeus"? He replied, this time the smile had changed to an annoyed snarl. Phoenix broke out into a loud laughter, he knew Thad hated being called by his full name but he just couldn’t help messing with his best friend. Thad looked at his overjoyed counterpoint and just rolled his eyes. He knew that Phoenix was just messing with him and he honestly didn’t mind since he would do the same. Thad returned the bright smile to his face and draped an arm over Phoenix's shoulder. They began walking to their lockers "So are you going to tell me what you and your dad were fighting about this morning" Thad asked. "Its nothing, we just disagreed on something" he answered. "That busted lip doesn't look like nothing buddy" Thad replied as he used his draped hand to point to the bruises. "I'll tell you but not here" Phoenix breathed out. Thad just shook his head in agreement reaching their lockers. 

Thad opened his locker and stuffed his things inside only keeping what he needed for astronomy class. "Did you see the fireworks the central council let off last night"? He turned to ask his bestfriend. Although Phoenix was there his thoughts were not. He was like any other morning watching the cute boy who managed to wheel right into his heart. See Phoenix has been in love with Greylen since the moment he met him. It didn’t matter that Greylen was in a wheelchair, all that mattered to him was that the boy had a beautiful soul and eyes that he swears are mystical. "Dude are you staring at Greylen again"? Thad asked with a chuckle. "N..No..maybe…Yes". Phoenix answered caught in a stutter. Thad laughed out loud and just at that moment had a brilliant idea. "Hey Greylen come over here for a second"? Thad shouted out over the other noisy teens. Greylen turned to the voice calling his name and saw that it was Thad and Phoenix. He began to roll their way "Hey Phoenix, hey Thad what's up" he asked. "Oh nothing just getting myself ready survive in this teenage jungle" Thad laughed out and answered. Greylen laughed cutely and nodded his head in agreement. Phoenix wanted to answer, he wanted to say something to the boy but he just couldn't. Every time he opened his mouth nothing would come out. The way the boy smiled cutely, the wonder in his eyes, and his voice fixed Phoenix in a trance. This whole situation was to much for him and he needed to escape before he just threw caution to the wind and hugged the boy tightly while leaving little kisses. "Phoenix….are you ok"? Greylen looked into his eyes with concern and asked. "Yeah he's fine he's just a little tired he didn’t sleep well last night" Thad answered for his bestfriend. "Oh well I hope you rest well Mr. Avifauna..I have to get to class now, see ya later". Greylen said with a smirk as he rolled away. Greylen knew Phoenix liked him it was so obvious, he just hoped his feelings weren't that transparent. "Dude you know you got it bad right" Thad asked the speechless boy beside him before he turned to leave. "Yeah I know" Phoenix answered in a low tone as he caught up with the other.
