“Welcome one and all to the grand ball of elyria. Please help yourself to the buffet and dancing and I hope you have fun!” said King Joseph. He sat down in his gold and red throne and looked at his daughter Ella. She was wearing a beautiful ball gown that was black on the bottom and on the top it was blue with red roses. Her hair was curled and their was a vibrant purple flower in it. She was wearing blue slippers and had a necklace that were made of moonshine jewels. Then she had white gloves that went up to her elbows Ella smiled and stood up. 

“Shall we?” she asked her father

“We shall” said Joseph they walked down to the ball room and started the first dance. Then everyone else joined in the dance. When the dance had finally stopped Ella walked off to go get some punch. She picked up the ladle and poured some pink punch into a goblet. As she put the ladle back in someone had run in to her and she had ended up with punch on her dress and face. 

“Oh no!” Ella looked around and walked out of the ballroom. She went up the stairs to her room in one of the corner towers. She went to her bowl of water to wash her dress off. Ella honestly had no idea how she was going to get this off her dress. But she took her gloves off and got a rag and then put it in the bowl and took it out. She put the rag on her dress and just left it their. She moved the rag to see if the stain went away but it didn’t. Her door opened and a girl walked in. She had blonde straight hair and was wearing a dress that was black. She had a white apron on and black leggings. She was wearing black slippers and their was a white bow around her waist.

“Mary my own personal maid! Thank goodness you came in here I think I need help with this.” said Ella

“Of course I would be happy to” said Mary as she took the wet rag from Ella and started cleaning the stain off. When she was down she took the rag.

“Mary! Where are you!” yelled a voice

“Sounds like head of the staff is coming and you know how she gets when I don’t hurry.” said Mary and she left calmly.

“Bye” said Ella

“okay time to get back” She put her gloves back on and started walking out of her room but stopped at her mirror. The door opened and the maids head mistress poked her head in. “Have you seen Mary by any chance?” 

“Yes but she just left to come get you” said Ella

“That's strange she would have run into me then.”

“Very” said Ella, then a shrieking voice came from down the hall witch made the two girls jump.

“Mary!” yelled Ella and the headmistress together. They ran down the hall to a room that was dark.

“Headmistress can you please go get a candle?” asked Ella

“Sure” The headmistress went to get one and while Ella stood there a light flickered on.

“What the were is that light coming from?” asked Ella. The light got brighter and she could see. There was a bed and a lamp in the room. Ella looked down and saw Mary laying on the ground eyes closed and head bruised from whatever had made her collapse. Ella gasped and screamed for guards to come fast.
           2. Life
Ella's POV

On the floor next to a bed was Mary, she was unconscious and had a bruise on her left arm. She didn't move and her eyes were open staring straight ahead at me. The window was opened and the cold air was bustling in. I ran to the window and closed it, and I started freaking out. Suddenly 4 guards came into the room. They all stared at me, 

"Princess! Follow me now we need to get you to your room." said one of the guards. I looked at him and walked over to him. He had soft light brown hair, his eyes were green and his skin was light and soft. I followed him trying to stay calm.

"What is going on?" I asked. The man looked at me and smiled.

"It would be better to tell you in the morning." he said and when we reached my room he waited for me to walk in.

"Please tell me what's happening." I repeated. He looked down and then back up at me.

"Right now we don't know my lady." he said then bowed as I walked into my room, he then stood back up his back and shoulders straight. I stared into his eyes.

"Thank you" I said he nodded and I closed the door. It was almost midnight and a new maid had entered to help me.

"Hello princess, my name is cherrline, or cherry." she said smiling. I nodded as she bowed then stood up. She then walked to my closet and looked in it. She grabbed my nightgown and then helped me in it. When my hair was out of pigtails and brushed I got in bed and Cherry left. I grabbed a book and read a few chapters then finally went to bed. 

Finally the new day had come. I woke up and looked out my window. I could smell the newly baked bread and fresh flowers coming from the village. I woke up and heard someone barge into the room I shot my head to the door and glared at who had entered. It was a boy, the boy guarding my door he was looking around then looked at me, and I was in my undergarments, my face went red and so did his. He put his hands over his eyes and walked out of my room. But kept the door open a little so I could hear him.

"Y-your highne-ess I am so um sorry for barging in like that but you mother is arriving back from Garden Green and is a little ill." My eyes went wide and I grabbed my robe and put it on.

"Thank you so much, um" I started but stopped not knowing his name.

"Its Alexander but Alex is what some people call me." I paused for a moment and smiled. Then I walked up to the door and opened it. But no one was there. But Cherry who was walking to my door. I let her enter and she helped pick out a lavender and gold dress. She put my hair up and gave me my crown. As I was staring into my mirror a thought had came to my mind, why did Alex barge in here looking around? He said my mom was a little ill not very, unless that's not what he came in here for.

"Hello? Miss?" said Cherry I shook my head and looked at her.

"Oh sorry yes?" I asked,

"Would you like to see to your mother?" she asked, I nodded in response and stood up letting my dress go down to the floor and my hair bounced everywhere. I walked to the door with Cherry following. We walked up the stairs to a door with a golden crown above it. Cherry curtsied then left me standing in the hall with two guards next to it. I nodded and they opened the door. I walked into my mother's room, witch was very big and had purple, blue, and black colors also my favorite colors.
