Edgard looked ticked off. His face flustered as if he were fed up and sighed. “Is this your way of keeping me in the draft? Is this why my father left? Because you people tried to keep him here with some stupid story?”

    “Edgard-”

“Who are you, anyway? My mother will have your head!”

    “Edgard-”

“Stop talking!” The sound of the woman’s voice was soothing but for some reason he could not stop feeling guilt when she spoke.

There was a silence that crept into the room and that calmed him just enough.

“I’m going to leave. I’ve served my time in this war and none of you will keep me here. No matter what you’ve done to my brain!”

The young female with the skirt walked around the table and looked at Edgard. She allowed her light blue eyes to meet his black eyes, making for a short and awkward connection.

“Your mother died in 1475. You have been stuck in this body for quite some time. We are the descendants of a woman named Genevieve Cullet. Well…” she smiled, “...I am. The other two are me from different lives.”

“Lives? Really?” He looked at the two that also joined them in front of the table. The man looked similar but he was male. His features much more rugged. The woman, however, was almost like a spitting image with just a few years added in the mix.

Edgard jumped back, hitting the door with his back and stared. “But that’s impossible!”

“Your machine worked in multiple ways. You were opening different dimensions and then merging them. It’s a bit hard to explain since you don’t remember us.”

“Remember you? Lady, I’ve never met you!”

She smiled and nodded having nothing more to say on the subject. “When you merged these dimensions you started a ripple. Some of us felt it. Those that didn’t were in no danger.”

He sighed and rolled his eyes. “Say I did believe this. How are you three in danger? You seem fine.”

The male began to speak. “You got one of us killed in this trip back to the future. So you have to fix it.”

    “Fix it? Killed?”

“Do you still shutter when you hear Kundalini’s voice? Does she make you nervous?”

“Who? What the hell is a Kundalini?”

“Kundalini is the name of us. But this woman,” he pointed to the other woman in the robe, “...you killed her twin. Her soul is lost until she dies. Or…”

    “Or?”

“Or you can make things right.”

“How the hell do I bring a twin back?”

“You can’t. You just recreate a vessel for the souls to find one another.”

Edgar’s eyes rolled around. “Well… now that I’ve played a part in the crazy train. I would like to go home now.”

The younger female nodded. “We’ll be seeing you around, Edgarton Bettancourt. We’re attached.”

“Yeah, okay. Nutcase.” He opened the door and walked out, leaving the three to look at one another. “Recreate a vessel? A soul? What?” He laughed it off and left the building. The elderly man watching with shame in his eyes.
